I never meant for any of this to happen.

I'm just a girl from the slums, but when the head sorcerer tried to capture me, I realized it was too dangerous to stay. So I had to get out. I had to leave them all behind.

I’d never done magic like that before. I didn’t think I would survive when they chased me.

But I did.

Now, the other refugees are counting on me to battle a wizard I’ve never even heard of. And I almost died the last time I used my powers.

But if I don’t stand and fight, I’ll never be able to live freely without always looking over my shoulder, without always waiting for an attack.
