Life With An Adventurer Guild

[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
Working with an adventurer guild isn't all about quest rewards and cute catkin receptionists, although those do help make adventuring a lot more acceptable as a career. Let us not forget the triplicate application forms, ceasless administration fees and complex inter-guild politics. If that hasn't put you off adventuring then bear in mind we haven't even dared touch on how to gut subjugated monsters.
Luckily for you this story is about none of that, although we will include quest rewards and cute catkin receptionists because as previously mentioned, that makes life with an adventurer guild all the more worth while.

- Strictly WorseRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Short stories aren't usually my thing but I really enjoyed this one. If you like slice of life there's a decent chance you will too.
While not without death and destruction, generally speaking the story has a positive bent and ties things up fairly nicely, though I think it starts stronger than it finishes. There are some typos but hopefully those will be fixed since edit suggestions are enabled and I was never unsure of what a sentence was supposed to be. It's not super deep but I don't think it's trying to be.
The real highlight of the story is the characters who feel distinct and different but by and large, it's hard not to root for them and want them to succeed.
If you're looking for an afternoon of easy reading this could be exactly the thing.
