Description
The shadow of death looms over us all, but some choose to make it an adventure.
June Allen is an avid player of a hit new MMO, too much of an avid fan, in fact. One could say she's addicted to the slow and steady grind of leveling, crafting and slaying monsters. But things are not as rosy as they might seem to this blissfully unaware RPG fan.
So when a mysterious force decides to intervene, she's hoping for great things. She doesn't really know what to expect, only that there's about to be a big change. That change is simple, she's going to die.
Reincarnated in the game she once loved, she has a choice between eternal servitude and suffering, or a new path. What choices will she make and where will they lead her? June could be consumed by lust for power and freedom, or be destroyed by the influences pushing and pulling her. Will she be able to overcome the forces that control her new life?

- Youngish OldsterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a really well written web novel. A lot of slice-of-undeath chapters mixed with litRPG bits and pretty cool descriptions of what June the MC goes through after she is isekai'd into her favorite game world as a lowly skeleton.
The parts that make it stand out for me are the detailed internal monologues and mental imagery that go along with June's growth. What is it like to become more undead than you already were? How do you fit into the hierarchy of the undead realm? How do the undead deal with death & revival? How does undead magic work & become more powerful? Lots of cool and almost kaleidoscopic descriptive passages about topics like these.
The world building is well-paced and fun. The undead realm is really deep. Basically, they do everything the living do, from magic, to crafting, to building & growing a realm, to exploring and adventuring. Except they do it all in uniquely undead-ish ways: runic magics, artificing, magical forging, soul & core-crafting, etc.
The characters are well written. They're not human any longer, but still relatable. June's emotional growth arcs are particularly interesting, since they both show her dealing with the trauma of her death (and undeath) as well as how emotions fuel her development as a more & more powerful undead.
A very enjoyable and well-paced read, with a lot of depth to it. - EldritchMaestroRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5An enjoyable Isekai based around a crafting focus and lots of undeath.
The story starts off a little slow and maybe a little confusing based on what specifically is happening but moves into the meat of the situation quickly. There are definitely questions that are left unanswered but it feels intentional for things that the character is going to need to figure out.
Overall the story flows well and it isn't a mess of tables and technical information which is nice. I suppose the only complaint I could have right now is that at the time of this review the character really hasn't come into her own on what exactly she wants to do. She is a little directionless but it is still fairly early.
If I could give one suggestion is to make the characters goals a little more clearly defined as in the beginning they feel a little too broad. Still good enough I am going to follow and keep my eyes on this one. - VfamilyRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Good grammar and spelling. Characters not yet filled out. Lots of vague bad things around.
Spends to long with MC helpless. Be nice to have a start point where things get interesting.

The beginning of the story drags on for too long, I skipped parts in hopes that the story will pick up at some point or that I get invested in what's happeing to the MC. Neither happend. So here I am, DNFing something that seems to have a lot of potential.
I don't even really know how to make it better, the first chapter shouldn't be the first, maybe it could later serve as an explanation, that we, the readers, are aware of but the MC is not. It didn't feel like a good hook.
The railroading of the MC in the following chapters was more annoying and frustrating than anything else and I didn't get the feeling it was serving to further the story the way the MC trying to figure out a mystery should be.
