- KrimetyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm enjoy getting into the story. I like the characters, and always love a modern litrpg story.
It is also a fresh site to not see a super-OP main character just going through the motions.
Fun story man.
I will I'll say that there are times the grammar gets a little rough. It isn't a deal breaker though, and if this community is great for anything, it's proofreading. - Elric The GreyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I listened to this on audible and loved it! Best litrpg so far I've purchased and read the other 2 books in the series and they were just as good
- kaoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Yes. I actually held off making Dinner until I finished this up to chapter 29.
Now that I've made dinner, lets get into the meat of this story for myself.
Style: Good enough for me. I found the balance of humor, action, drama and a dash of litrpg building just fine.
Grammar: He has a FEW weird words here and there and sentences. BUT that is really always 2nd place to Story and Characters.
Story: Wow. I actually found myself so engrossed into this story and our MC's tribulations and issues that I held off until chapter 29 before making dinner. So if you like a dose of litrpg + walking dead (season 1 and 2 and you liked Glen - cuz i get that our character is very much a Glen) then give this a read.
Character: MC has emotional issues. The author kind of makes that clear and up front in the first couple of chapters. Makes it easier for me to accept the weirdness of his calmness in the face of the FRAKKING apocalypse that killed 40% frakking percent of the human race! I liked the supporting characters, they are archetypes, but hey, what's the point of writing if everyone is 'average joe' - average joe schmoe is boring. You like boring? Ok. Go away. Sure some need more fleshing out. But then again...this IS from the perspective of the MC.
Overall I give this a 5 stars. +1 more for putting a CYCLONE!! a frakking CYCLONE. btw, Mr. Author that kind of dates you, you old Gee Gee. And me. LOL. - AdadorRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5All the basic building blocks are here and put together really well. I would recomend this to anyone that wants another litrpg story because it is pretty good. There are some small grammar mistakes, but nothing that will take you out of the story. I think my biggest criticism is not that the story does anything wrong, just that nothing really sticks out in it. It does the same thing other stories do, and I don't really see what is so special about this litrpg story versus any other. All in all though, it is a pretty fun read and if anyone is looking for something to occupy their time I recomend this.
- capbuzzkillRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Chapters are short and sweet making you want more but due to them being short they keep the story quality up
Characters description are vage giving imagination a boost
Good story - gnarlytreemanRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Not bad, its definitely not the first, not even the first canadian survival of its genre. The story is readable, there aren't any humongus errors. The plotline is simple, just survive. The Mc doesn't have that much personality, rather average, no quircks at all. Having said that despite all its good, this isn't a superawesome story, its lacking the specialness it takes to create a really immersive, never want to put it down story. A few tweaks and some added writing here and there could make this truly awesome.
- Millamber232Royal Road★★★★ 3.5This was a great read and i am looking forward to the next books release. Interesting to see a mc going through the world collapsing around him and watching him struggle to find stable footing
- ExcalionarRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The MC of this story levels at half the speed of everyone else with no explination as to why. He spent a crap ton of in-game currency called credits on an item that he breaks in literally EVERY fight, despite that item supposedly being futuristic uber-armour the equivilance of a modern day tank.
The author loves to give massive explinations for things that are really not important, but literally nobody cares to ask about or notices that the MC aparently has a -75% handicap on gaining levels.
The style score is lowered for having poorly designed, awkwardly huge tables.
Story score is down because the timeskip was horribly timed, and NOTHING happened.
Few grammar mistakes. Some are a little awkward, but they're not common at all.
Weirdly, the characters themselves are awesome. I like all of the ones I'm supposed to like, and hate the ones I'm supposed to hate. Well done on that. - InslayerRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Way too mediocre of a story, grammar is a bit of a mess, and it is obvious that the novel never went through any kind of editing after being finished.
That said, if you seriously have nothing to do, it's an okay read. - colinm553Royal Road★★★ 2.5It could be great but you skipped way to much and now we have a complex and cool sounding beginning we keep hearing about but never see plus there is zero character development
