Life Due Collapse

Description
In the highly confusing and war-torn world of Zero, an era of peace has been created out of desperation by all participants in the latest World War. With the energy and supplies to uphold conflict now diminished, new threats arose from once benign monsters that were swept without issue, causing a new front for humanity to face instead of itself.
Lass Leviere, the son of a well-renowned weapons manufacturer, was himself experiencing those times of utter uncertainty. Despite his powers as an Obsulyte user, one among many that were feared by the public and sought after by specific parties, his utter refusal to use them led to the death of his father, whose small business and clientele he now inherited. Living in a constant cycle of repetitive, nightmare-inducing sadness on the edge of a small town, it all changed one rainy day with the arrival of a mysterious visitor. Discovering her name, Ikarisa, and her intentions shortly after, he quickly realized that her complicated task in combination with her problem of a hazy, simple mind, made her act without thinking or full understanding of the world around her, which only served against her, putting her in constant danger.
The very next day with a mix of an unknown drive deep within him and a desperation to escape his constantly resurgent demons, he reluctantly decided to come along with her, in search of purging massive threats that, according to her, were responsible for cycling the world into constant states of chaos. However, in due time, the magical journey in his epic, stories-filled mind came crashing down as a hefty dose of reality he cast aside returned, and a dark past most fitting for this world history resurfaced.
Meeting some rather unique people along the way, a group of gifted but troubled friends was slowly forged from both old and new faces, with everyone's pasts and worries finding more shoulders to lean on. But as their journey continued, more darkness kept putting their ties into jeopardy, grounding their initial excitement in the harsh reality of life. The only thing that this journey could eventually do is to give them a chance to finally come of age, face what they've been avoiding, and find light hidden far beneath layers of fears and tears, all in the hope of finally having a future worth living.

- StrahdsillystrawRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0It's what it says on the tin, nothing so far is out of the norm, but tropes are tropes because they're good, and so is the book. The character's don't feel real to life just yet, but they're fun and easy to relate to, even if a little flat. I haven't explored the world very much yet, so it's hard to comment on the authors worldbuilding, but their descriptions are above a passing grade.
My main issues are with the authors passive voice, I'm seeing a little too much tell and not enough show, but that's pretty standard for novels on this site and can be remedied in the future. Keep up the good work, author!
