Christoph Gildenson is a poor farmer's son in the Protharian Empire. Days from the capital, there exists the small village of Rothmire. Dreaming of lands and adventures beyond the golden fields of wheat, Christoph's prayers were answered when knights arrived with news. Invading barbarians are coming, and boys are to be conscripted.
