I came into this story knowing it would be a slow burn, which is usually not something I’d be into. I quickly realize this book was worth the wait, as the prose is strong and the characters are very well built.
I love how there is a school/classroom vibe and then it eventually unravels as the story progresses and we get to see Kite become an assassin in light of the tragedy that happened to his parents.
grammar and structure of this novel is actually pretty professional. I didn’t notice many errors (if any at all) and I was able to glide through the chapters with relative ease.
Kite is a very likable MC and Ava is great as well. I was sort of getting Stranger Things vibes at one point early on in the novel, as the setting revolves around kids in a school trying to come together for something bigger than their ordinary lives would dictate.
Setting is describe and fleshed out well. The city that the book takes place in is quite compelling, and does do a great job of fulfilling what is promised in the blurb.
I highly recommend this novel and other world by this author. If you are okay with a slow burn then this may be a good read for you. Even though it builds up slowly, the beginning is still engaging and worth hanging around for.

The novel starts slowly, establishing its complex world filled with time travel, magic, and sci-fi elements. The narrative is told from multiple perspectives, which adds depth to the story but requires patience from the reader as it takes time to unfold. Flashbacks are used effectively to explore Kite’s tragic past and his transformation into a weapon, offering both action and emotional depth.
The pacing picks up as Kite’s journey intertwines with powerful themes of revenge, identity, and fate. The book has elements of high-stakes battles, magical powers, and philosophical musings on morality and control, making it a compelling read for fans of both fantasy and science fiction.
While the slow start may deter some, the world-building and action sequences ultimately create a rewarding experience. If you’re looking for a complex, multi-layered narrative with strong character development, Legends Across the Multiverse: Kite Caulder offers a unique and immersive experience.
