- RingostraussRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.010 chapters read so far, a cut above the average story on Royal Road.
Really enjoying the voice of the main character. It has decent plot description and enough game mechanics without being overbearing.
There are some minor editing errors but nothing that detracts from being able to read the story.
Definitely an author to watch.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes the genre even slightly, and even to those who just like fantasy. - Thall230Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Loving it so far. Keep up the good work. I like the characters and the world building, I'm trying to think of something I don't like about this story and I'm drawing a blank.
- n0xRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.014 chapters read and sadly this story seems like it will not get any more. Real shame. I enjoyed the Story so far. Original review below.
So another take on the "mc gets Transported to a new world genre".
I love the longer chapters and the first fight scene was pretty good. Also MC doesn't completely freak upon arriving in his new world, which makes this kind of story so much easier to enjoy.
Little foreshadowing of the world mechanics, which seem straight forward, skill based and not overly stat-reliant. Always a nice setup.
I was looking forward to more, would be great if this got picked up again.
Nox - SublimestoneRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A story in which our hero dies and finds himself living in the world of his favorite video game. So far, so basic. What makes this story great (as far as it's gone) is how much more interesting this game is than usual. Instead of the generic fantasy MMO we usually get, this video game explores the layers of hell, where death transports you down towards more dangeous levels and more powerful abilities.
Unfortunately, like many other good stories, this one seems to be permanently on hiatus. My only hope is that the author realized what a cool game he was designing, and decided to stop working on this story in favor of actually making the game :)
The main flaw with this story is that it's too short and ended too soon. This is the reason for the lower character score. While I've found the MC and his companion Lilith to be likeable so far, they are currently pretty flat characters. Going by the other story by the author that I've read, World Keeper, they would be fleshed out over time, but currently they're a little weak.
We haven't had enough chapters to really get too much plot going, but the story does have a long-term goal (get to the bottom of hell and beat the boss there). While I appreciate good side stories, I tend to think that stories with a clearly defined end point turn out better. My high story score is primarily for this, and due to the promise more a good stories indicated by the interesting world building.
For style, the story is cleanly written, convaying the story clearly, but without drawing attention to itself. It gets the job done, but it's nothing to write home about. For tone, while this story is marked as traumatizing, so far it hasn't felt too bad (although that might have changed if we got further along - the MC IS in hell, after all). Overall, I'd say the tone is pretty similar to World Keeper.
I didn't notice any egregious spelling or grammatical errors. There may be a few here or there, but they didn't take me out of the story. - TilaztRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A great read, very well started and also very well balanced between action and character developpement. I do worry about the long term though, with there being 1000 layers to go through, each with their own habitat. It will prove intresting how that is dealt with.
Strongly recomment you pick up this read. - francioRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I more or less enjoyed your other works, but to me, this seems to be developing into the best one. I really hope you resume writing and posting it soon.
