- Vze3vdnpRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This tale is designed for the fast reading binge reader thirsty for good sizes of satisfying story with solid characters. I'm surprised that I haven't seen MORE stories of this type. A great melding of a western wizard who wakes up to find themselves in a cultivation culture, it feels like in the future many will try their hand at what feels like a niche genre waiting to happen. With the clear and well paced action scenes and solid descriptions they will have to travel pretty far to catch upto the quality this author has brought to the royal road. I don't think they'll be able to catch him.
- FriendofpastimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Exellent story, i have found myself reading and login off to get some sleep, but partly fantasising about both the last chapter i was reading and where the next will take me.
not quite on par with wandering inn or savage divinity, but its close enough, hopeing for another 300 chapters. - sinkingshipRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0And that's why I rate this story five! D&D wizard doing D&D wizard things will never not be endlessly amusing to me - and this story is a lot of fun for me to read because of that.
Plus it's well written. No overt spelling or grammar issues. Little early to weigh in on the plot. All in all my only issue is that the chapters are too short! I want to read more ;_; - humble readerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Better than most of the stories on the homepage. Definetly worth a read.
- PurpleEyeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5For years cultivators have intrigued and amazed us with their culture, philosophy, stories and cock-compensating technique names. And yet their tales are always plagued by the most annoying characters traits: arrogance and idiocy, almost always mixed together to maximize annoyance and gain an easy hatred for the enemy. These two are annoying on their own while being expressed by a few characters. When applied to thousands of warrior cultures they are excruciating.
But Axinhead has brought us a hero. A noble man, charitable but not naive, proud but not arrogant, and that doesn't act like a spoiled murderous brat every time you slightly annoy him, like so many Wuxia protagonists out there and that actually acts his age. But most important of all, this hero of ours is done with cultivators' shit and he's about to prove to them the might a D&motherfuckingD Mage! - KydsdadRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Excellent story so far. Really liking the idea of a Mage thrown into a cultivator society, great idea. Will do a more detailed review when the is more to the book. Kepp up the grat work.
- OnchRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story is good; it's a novel take on the cultivation genre and the idea of taking a DnD wizard and putting him in a xianxia world is great!
STYLE: Nothing that stands out in this department, it's quite standard so the story flows well and it's easy to read.
STORY: The story is interesting and original for the most part. However, it has its fair amount of tropes that are common to cultivation stories. I also feel like the gimmick of this story might become stale and this will just turn into another copy-pasted cultivation story, but I hope the author will be able to keep it fresh and interesting. The pacing is great: It doesn't fall into the trap that many cultivation stories fall into, where the author spends countless pages describing characters with old cliché like ‘jade-like skin'.
GRAMMAR: Nothing stands out here; it's easy to read and I've seen nothing that detracts from the reading experience.
CHARACTERS: The main character is great, his thoughts and reactions are amusing. I like how his common sense clashes with the world around him. But, while the main character is interesting and fleshed out the other characters feel a bit too one-dimensional. I think this novel would benefit from fleshing out the side characters, but the story is still in its beginnings so there's plenty of time to develop them.
To conclude, I will say that this story is worth the read, and I'm eager to see where the author goes with it.
