- Pairo KazeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'd watch this on Netflix or HBO. There's so many characters to relate to and some to hate. Which is exactly what I've been looking for. I can't get enough of the small town setting for this epic invasion. I was looking at the author's page and the series goes on forever, and I can't to read the next book.
Spoilers:
I couldn't tell you how happy I was that the five teenagers failed to keep the badass aliens from successfully invading. It would seem ridiculous that four years of training could stand up to thousands of years of preparation. It was honestly refreshing to see the main character get thrown around like a rag doll no matter how much I like her.
Even the 'villains' are characters I can relate to and sympathize with. They're more like dark heroes of their own species, and Earth just happens to be in their way. It's so calculating and cold how they work their way into the lives of the main characters. Right down to the Cult of Night and the high school principal.
I wanted Justin to die slower. Ngl, he lived long enough for me to wish for an agonizing death. And Sagan is the best character imo. I love her and Korac together.
Rayne and Nox are... almost too deep to read? If that makes sense? Their relationship is my favorite though. It's so complicated.
Xelan and Tameka to me are almost to healthy to handle. There's respect between them and they never really cross the line, which had better be crossed in the next book otherwise it's all too wholesome for me.
Can't wait to read the action scenes in the By the Pale Moonlight because I heard it gets rough.
