The ending's quite bittersweet, but the story is really great. There were quite a few funny moments, and I really loved how the characters feel clever yet believable. I definitely like the rich background, and I think it'd be interesting to explore more of the universe and Kyron's adventures in future stories. The entire thing feels very polished, and I didn't notice any grammatical errors or misspellings.
- FatPenguin86Royal Road★★★★ 4.0Well, i wasn't dissapointed at all. I was a bit doubtful at first but it sucked me in pretty quickly. One of my favorite things about your writing style is how much time we spend at the mc's head. Not just emotionally but we speculate, predict and plan with him too which i think is one of the biggest reasons your stories are so engaging. It's obvious you are able to put yourself in the mc's place when writing by the way you present all the different angles to the situations we are in. Which makes said situations all the more realistic and encourages the reader to speculate and plan along with the characters. And that makes this stuff engaging as hell. Congrats on that.
Btw, i think there are a lot of paralells with KoP. Elves being discriminated against, 2 characters running from forces much bigger than themselves and bonding in the process, dark magic that is while really useful and alluring has drawbacks one may not anticipate at first and of course, the greatest weapon of all... BLUFFING!
All in all, this is a really nice short story. Fuck the king of Minaan and glory to the... Lady?( is this story somehow connected to the weaponsmith idea of yours?)
I give this 4 stars just because i think you will write even better stuff in the future.
P.S: Maybe a non-canon really short crossover story with KoP where kyŕon goes in to their world? Would be pretty cracky i think. - librarysmilesRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Once upon a time there was a non-human who was hunted by all humans.
This is one chapter in his long life in one world with one human princess in distress.
This feels like a full length story that had the excess parts cut out. It is an enjoyable read.
