Kill. Consume. Survive.
Ren Kageyama was reincarnated into a new world with nothing but the clothes on his back. After years of struggle, he stumbles across an ancient and deadly weapon - the sword of one-thousand teeth, Stigma. After touching it he is bound together with the spirit who inhabits the blade and pressed into servitude.
If he wishes to prevent his soul from being eaten - he must satiate her hunger by destroying powerful enemies and consuming them. - DuskDeadmanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Pretty good I'd say. Nice stuff over all. Kinda feels like this was meant to be porn at the start but was pleasantly surprised it was not. Wasn't until well into the story before we started to see just how insane the legendary weapons actually are. Waiting for Sakura to either pull her head out of her ass or die an ignoble.
- Jungle_FeelsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great characterization and Litrpg design, a breath of fresh air. U can really see that good thought has gone into the world building as well as the all original blue screens.
I do see so room to grow in terms of "show, not tell", some more use of skills" with this I mean skills like backstab, charge, power strike or your own versions. The Litrpg part of the story is well fleshed out, would be nice to see that extends some more to cool skills, and then expand using these new building tools for more engaging, dynamic and visceral combat
Can't wait to see what adventures come next.
Keep it up! 💯 - Ferrum1Royal Road★★★★ 4.0184 chapters to date and it's been a fun read. Good character development, interesting premise, curious world....
Sometimes, it seems like the pace is simply too fast and things are accomplished too easily. That said, it's still fun to follow along and the reader is left wondering where this is all going to wind up. - lunalephRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Knight of Corruption sets itself apart in the LitRPG genre with a very strong start. The worldbuilding is absolutely fantastic, the story is engaging, and I couldn't put it down. I'll definitely be following this story to its conclusion, and I hope to see more from the author. :>
Style:
The writer's style is distinctive, with well-written combat sequences, and the LitRPG aspect of the story isn't anywhere near as overbearing as some other stories in the genre. That said, I feel that the author could describe some settings in more detail (for example, I found that the battlefield where Ren found Stigma was hard to imagine, with more descriptions of the bodies around Stigma than the location itself.)
Grammar:
Overall, the grammar is fantastic, with only a few spelling errors in some of the earlier chapters.
Story:
The story itself is extremely engaging, and I find myself very interested in how Ren will change if Stigma consumes more cursed items. The only 'speedbump' I felt was Stillbrook, as I felt that that part of the story ended rather abruptly, with no justice being doled out by Ren, and the party moving on too quickly. I am very eager to learn how the Great Absolver figures into all of this, and why he is feeding the items to Ren. Perhaps we'll learn why people were reincarnated?
Characters:
With regards to characters, I feel that it is too early to pass judgement on Tahar, as she is too new to the party as of the time of this review.
Ren seems to fall into a sort of 'bland antihero' character archetype at the moment, with info on his pre-reincarnation self sparingly provided, and his post-reincarnation childhood crafting him into a rogue that's moral when it suits him. I feel that he could be fleshed out a bit more with flashbacks or dreams, like the one in Chapter 35.
Cali's backstory seems unknown as well, although withholding that information seems to be part of her character. I'd love to learn more about why she is the way she is, though.
I eagerly await mo - Gonetobed17Royal Road★★★ 3.0The story right out of the gate was excellent but around chapter 20 it goes off the rails and it starts to lose itself. No language issues it just becomes terribly mid and the plot starts to become a copy and paste Japanese light novel. Honestly it's not bad but if you want a light novel theyre some way better ones on this site.
- yuyuyreRoyal Road★★ 2.0I didn't like the many many times it switched P.O.V., which is mainly just a me thing. Also didn't like how weirdly the MC character was developing. Not a bad story just lost my interest. It seems I need at least fifty words to rate the story, which is unnecessary really, so I'm gonna just type nonsense until I can.
