I don't normally leave reviews because it is so hard to say something about the story with out giving something away about the story or coloring a different readers view about it.
    But here it goes.
I love the noir feel of the story. It reminds me of the old detective stories about Mike Hammer by Mickey Spillane, or the radio shows like "sincerely Johnny Dollar". The characters feel so alive and you can sympathize with them. All the main characters have something relatable about to them. I love the way the author interweaves the story lines. After reading the intro chapters you will definitely have a favorite character you will root for.
There is Samuel, a divorced Human who was taken to the cleaners by his ex who wanted total control of his life. He has a larger dog who I think is a sheepdog that makes his life interesting ala the Chinese curse
There is Aubrey a down on her luck Raptor divorcee who just wants to be a cop on the beat. But her broken body betrays her.
And then there is Pierce. A married stegosaurus union enforcer who loves what he does.
All through this story the author weaves jazz. Old school jazz like from the 40s and 50s.  It acts like a background interweaving the stories together. Almost like a conductor is weaving an orchestra together to create a scene.
If you enjoy good noir or pulp fiction you will enjoy this story. Writing this review with only 3 chapters up, but I could not put them down even at 2 in the morning. Can't wait for more.
