Description

A man once lived a peaceful life. He went to school, did his chores, and read in his spare time. So peaceful was his life that he didn't even notice it end until he woke up in another world, in a new body.

Luckily for him, the man knew the world, knew who the new body belonged to, and knew the future. Or so he thought.

As the man - now woman - explores the world he learns that while the world is familiar, it is also distinctly different. The villains can't be swept away with the power of friendship, traumatic childhoods can't be resolved by a simple conversation, and entire continents simply aren't there.

After all, Fairy Tail never did truly explore a world where dragons once ruled and men can level mountains.

Hey all! Couple notes from the author here:

1. The story is a self-insert into Juvia from Fairy Tail immediately after the Phantom Lord arc.

2. You don't need to have watched/read Fairy Tail to enjoy this, but it may help. This is an AU and while a lot of canon events will still happen, they'll happen mostly off screen and most of the story will be of my own creation.

3. The synopsis is pretty melodramatic and the story will likely be nowhere near that dark. If you can write a good synopsis (or even have suggestions) please let me know, I'd really appreciate it.

4. I love magic. A lot. There will be a lot of magic here, and mostly not of the big explody kind. Wizard is my favorite D&D class and the MC's use of her powers will reflect that (as in her approach to it will be more academic than martial, there aren't any spell slots to be found here).

5. English is my first language and I try to hold my story toat leastthat standard. If you notice any typos or grammar errors in the story, feel free to shame me for them.

There were minimal mistakes in spelling and grammar. I love the story it makes the Fairy Tail universe slightly more realistic while keeping to its original light heartedness and absurdity keep it up! I have been waiting for updates juvia is my #2 and it's nice to see this story about her giving her the cred she needs

I don't really know what else to write and I'm being forced to write at least 50 words for this so yeah. Um...the grammar's pretty good. The...the plots good??? The length of the chapters are nice too. I hope the Mc gets more powerful over time too.

An interesting start to a new story, weird changes to the canon story of Fairy Tail that have me a bit confused and detracted a bit from my enjoyment but otherwise will definitely continue to read to see where these changes will lead.
The premise of Outsiders being an established and well known thing suddenly is what is detracting from my ejoyment. That is to say this not being a strange one off occurence for the MC is a plot device that changes the entire Fairy Tail universe in massive ways that is a bit concerning for the future of this story, like ANYONE could just suddenly be possesed randomly by an Outsider and this is just a common thing. How many other Canon characters have in the past been possesed or will be in the future completely changing the timeline of events because Zeref was possesed in the past and never did anything hes famous for.
I just hope these are all things that have been thought of and planned by the Author or the story could get out of hand very very fast with the Outsiders being a very well known and regular thing to the point where everyone in Fairy Tail has heard of them and Makarov has multiple devices that can tell if your an Outsider, couple with Makarovs detailed understanding of how an Outsider works...

I really liked the story as I thought it was written pretty well with the characters being more fleshed out than I thought they would be originally. My favorite part was the interactions between the pairing. However, I wished there had been more details, but it is understandable since it is a fanfiction and other stuff happening as explained in the afterword. Things started derailing and the ending was not the HEA I thought would occur.
Although I do appreciate the summary of what would've happen instead of just planning leaving this story on hiatus and calling it a day
I did like the direction this story started with so if there's ever a more fleshed out version, I'd be happy to check it out!
