- B-whyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far so good. I haven’t had anything to complain about. I was looking for a Cultivation Story and I found it! It’s not fast paced so the foundation was solid. Hope to able explore more adventures such has this.
//Still can’t submit this comment so let’s go a little more detail//
It has logical feel to it. Which is can is good in some cases but not so much in others places. The cultivation structure is stable and the path ahead is interesting. Little touches of romance which keep the development instead of enduring it.
Look forward to seeing how everything will turn out - Astral464Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm really enjoying this story. The main character actually makes progression at a reasonable pace but isn't trying to stay "under the radar". The story is well paced and it makes me want to beg for more chapters. I hope we see some advancements in his relationships as he gets older.
I do hope time moves faster in his 3rd and beginning of his 4th year.
Over all this story is Definitely my cup of tea☕. - BarnmaddoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This cultivation novel is just solid all around. The setting and cultivation mechanics are very typical for a cultivation novel, with a slight westernization. Especially with some of the terms, describes, and slang.
Unlike most cultivation novels the plot and characters are very reasonable. There is arrogance and greed and face, but not taken to the ridiculous extremes of most cultivation novels. Similarly the main character isn't stupid, nor are they so unlucky that they have to constantly rely on plot device to stay alive.
I have no complaints about the prose or grammar.
The math is interesting, but unless you're a math major or a math fanboy, it's probably just going to be fun, but meaningless detail.
I think my only complaint is I binged it all in one night, and now I have to get used to the slow releases. The chapters are fairly bite sized, and the pacing steadily nibbles away at the plot.
Ah, that's what it is, the novel isn't very suspenseful so far. That's why the novel feels slow, while really things are moving along quickly. I'm not a big fan of suspense, but I'm so used to it, that without the big build ups and big payoffs the novel feels a little bland. There are some plot hooks that could build into major suspense.
Was not a big fan of the regular tournament arcs. I'm just not invested enough in the tertiary characters to care how they exactly rank month by month. At least the tournament's are each fished in a chapter or two. - ArensorRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story can be offputting to some because it represents a much more traditional cultivation story. A lot of the cultivation novels on this site are some mix of magic/cultivation or system/cultivation and this novel is 100% eastern cultivation with a bit of western flair. This story if it continues will be spanning hundreds, thousands, or more years. This makes it hard to depart from what other reviews have called a boring cycle. This cycle consists of several events happening, a brief update on techniques, and then time spent in the background. I don't find anything intrinsically wrong or boring with this cycle but some people may be offput. Aside from story structure I think that the characters for the most part are pretty good but have the tendency to come off as too mature for their age. There is a relatively wide supporting cast that we check in with from time to time but there is a relatively small amount of characters that we really hear about and connect to. The cultivation itself is pretty good if nothing all that unique but we are still early in the story. I enjoy how the mc's past lends itself to his cultivation and I think it makes a lot of sense. Overall I'm happy with the story and despite its issues I think its a great cultivation novel.
- PaingRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Pretty good so far. Goes well alongside all the other stories in the cultivation genre. Not the best book out there but it's nice as is and the story direction is interesting enough. The math bit is not as prominent in the story but when it's there it serves its purpose.
- NightslxyRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This is one of the better cultivation novels. It's a classic cultivation novel but the mc is actually smart. I never thought id see the day. But, as like most cultivation novels, the combat can't compare to most novels on this website. The fight scenes aren't written well, but I could push past that and am thoroughly enjoying the novel. There's a ton of chapters to binge read as well so you might as well read it.
overall: it's a fun novel with its flaws but still very enjoyable. - Sir ArthusRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0While I appreciated the math aspect, the story fell a bit short in every other apect...
This is a typical cultivation novel with all the cultivation and numerous tournaments we all already know and appreciate, but there is no real drive or novel concept (about the cultivation genre in general) behind the story to surprise the reader and get him hooked to the story...
The MC cultivates to get stronger to increase the mcs survivability and to sometime in the future be free to explore the universe...
There are some nice character interactions, still it felt quite silly sometimes because you have to keep in mind, that the mc and his compatriots are mainly 10 - 12 years old (in a world where humans usually grow up like In our universe) but get treated and interact like adults. I like that I don't have to read child drama but it takes away from the immersion ...
And sometimes it's not very well justified why this universe is how it is:
Why do all the new disciples adapt to the cultivation world without problems? Is it the qi or does the mc just have a very very sheltered childhood and usually the life of the peasantry is absolutely terrible? Because you have to keep in mind that this universe produces child soldiers without end and is not afraid to use them anywhere, from the typical escorts mission where one unlucky bandit encounter can kill them to the assassination mission of important figures in the world of non cultivators ... And nobody questions this... not the children who get thrown into this situation and also not the non cultivators who on the one side don't have any idea what the cultivation world is about (the Mcs father is a professor and still doesn't know shit), but on the other side should be interacting a lot with these 10 year olds running around with superhuman capabilities on some random sect mission all over the empire...
If this story continues like it does at the moment it will probably need hundreds of chapters more (that's not a bad thing), but t - DoktorPrimatRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I truly enjoy your story, and your cultivation-system is progressing nicely, and the story os flowing wonderfully. A few spelling errors here and there, but nothing that breaks the reading spell. The only thing that iffs me a tad is just how.... grown-up the 11 year old children are acting. They seem 5-7 years older mentally than they are, and apparently also look some 5 years older physically than their age would suggest. That throws me for a loop every time it's mentioned.
Beside that I like that the MC isn't shown as a OP munchkin that gets the heavens fortune and trips over a secret cultivator treasure stash and all that nonsense, but seems intelligent, yet still curious. I enjoy thr MC's thoughts on certain aspects of cultivation, such as what the spirit root actually is, and what qi is. A bit og science in the magic world is always a nice outlook.
The story is definitely worth a read if you enjoy cultivation and advancement stories with a well written world and a colourful description. The characters are well thought out and have a life besides interacting with the MC, and the story has an overall well-thought out feel to it.
Looking forward to more!
-Dok - Ep1cRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0It's a good read, not the best I've ever read, but pretty good! Don't expect stuff that's all that different from the genre in general, this story isn't carried by its originality. It's well written, doesn't have a harem, and is paced pretty well so I would recommend it if you like xianxia.
- OrphicleRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Another reincarnation story of dubious prospects? Hmm let's read the first chapter and see if the mc isn't a nihilistic incel. Its on the rising part of royal road might be promising.
Not even 1k words in: "humans are but specks of dust" sighs dramatically. God dammit its another one of these. You know what I'm talking about. Go reread azarinth or borne of caution again I guess
