- God of LiesRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I love a good cold open, cutting right into the moment of action and tragedy, and leaving us to work out what's going on with the clues the author(ess - I guess) gives us!
An empress running from an emperor with child, a mysterious jade, betrayal and disappointment - lots of great hooks here, and more I won't spoil!
My only criticism is sometimes the dialogue doesn't quite ring true (this might be the result of translation). With dialogue, you want to be as concise as possible, especially when people are familiar with each other, doubly so when emotional, but it's a small gripe, and I am greatly looking forward to where this story goes next!
