Description
Do you believe in hell?
Throughout my life, I always did, yet despite that, I've consistently acted as if I didn't. Going from one wrongdoing to another, I always believed that at some point in the future—maybe in my fifties or so—I would turn things around.
I aspired to become a good father, crafting enduring memories for my future offspring to cling to long after I was gone. A good husband for my blonde of a wife to mourn forever. A commendable individual who would be a source of inspiration—in other words, I wanted to become what would be considered by the world and perhaps even gods if they do exist—a good person. However, before I could reach that age, before I could become a good person, before I could earn myself a nice spot in heaven, I died, and the hell that I had long pretended to ignore came into existence, awaiting me.
The pain is excruciating, the burning is intense, yet I can't even let out a scream. I yearn for it to cease, but having been here long enough, boiling in this ocean of flame, I understand very well that it won't.
I know it's futile, yet if there is someone out there—anything, anyone—please save me. If you choose to do so, I will dedicate my existence to what truly matters.
What to expect:
Evil MC (One of their main powers requires the sacrifice of an infant soul to be activated.)
Dungeon Core MC: (Basically, the MC is reincarnated as the entity behind a Dungeon.)
Isekai: The usual stuff: a guy dies, gets sent to hell, then gets reincarnated as something not human.
What to not expect:
Heroïc MC (I don't think I even need to explain this one.)
Dungeon Core Story (If you're expecting a story that focuses on randoms fawning over how "unique" and "powerful" the Dungeon administered by the MC is, then this story might / will not be for you.) I really want to stress this part:this is not a Dungeon Core Story,it's just the story of a guy that got reincarnated as the entity behind a Dungeon.

- Mr.Penguin-The-FifthRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Intro chapters go on abit too long, but after you get past those, you get what I would call, The good part, I havent see any real errors in spelling or anything, but im not a pro.
all I have to suggest is, Show, dont tell, the author is already pretty good at that, but the I press the button "I pressed the button" thing happens abit more then once, other then that, good work - Old Tree of the GrowthRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The first few chapters might surprise you, in that they are seemingly very different to what the story is advertised as.
Despite that they are very well written and when the story does shift both character and focus and - to a certain degree - style, the first few chapters make a lot of sense as setup, at least as far as I understand the concept of the story and its backstory so far.
Definitely well written, with very little in terms of errors or technical issues and an overall well crafted setting and story.
Give it a try, stick around to at least after the shift (after chapter 10) and enjoy an interesting and entertaining tale! - CosmorosRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Let's start with that. This dungeon core story is weird. This story's start can be summarised as "lets use most of the chapter for interfaces" with little of happening in each chapter. Then it passes to interactions between characters, mostly... In simple terms, it starts bad but gets better.
Style: It starts as another battle logs story where interfaces are the main part of the story and just exist without being based on anything. With the reader getting thrown into the middle of a side story that makes no sense to whoever just starts the story. If you come for a dungeon builder story,
it only starts at chapter 18 and even then it's mostly spent on looking at UIs that form the biggest part of this story. And kinda stops later on in the story, becoming more of character interactions.
Grammar: It's fine, and the story is not hard to read.
Story: It's a LITRPG in name, but not in mind. Stats that mean numbers, skills that mean numbers. Levels don't bring anything to the reader with explaining power levels or what they mean. They exist, but they aren't the focus of the story.
Let's add the topic of religion that gets thrown time to time into the story, but is weird and is not a big part of the story.
The dungeon building part is done in such a way that you have 0 emotions while reading about it. With every choice, getting an info dump and its own interface with data that takes most of the chapter.
Also, after 30 chapters, it becomes less and less of a focus of a story.
Characters: From cringe worth naming style to absolutely cringeworthy interactions between characters and power levels that make no sense. You have it all in here in the first 18 chapters. In all 8 chapters that are spent on secondary characters, there is no emotion when they get killed. They existed more than props than something material. Dialogues were on a level of monologues with each other, where they added nothing to the story. Reading "intro" into the supposedly dungeon building story that took 1 - madavocadoRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5i think the biggest thing that i could say about this story, rather than giving my own opinions, is that about a dozen chapters in the author has to go into the comments unprompted and explain how the story even functions, because they consider that it's so confusing that a reader may otherwise have no idea what's even meant to be happening
and you know what? they're right, it is that confusing and i did have that little idea
i think that it's meant to be all very meta, and based around the idea of split personalities... but i might be wildly wrong
i would say that the actual technical writing such as grammar etc, is absolutely top notch
EDIT having read roughly another half dozen chapters, it also appears to be exploring the ideas of unreliable narrators (possibly plural? not sure), the differences between self and outside perception, and possibly religious extremism.
still utterly incomprehensible though, and i still may be totally wrong
all very avante garde,
i've put the star rating square in the middle because i have so little idea whats going on that i don't even know if it's good or not.
FINAL EDIT. raised to 3.5 stars.
once you get past the art school stuff, there's a well written dungeon story, if a little heavy on the tables, notifications etc, making it rather choppy to read.
anyone who wants to skip that stuff, you can jump to about chapter 18 and it will actually be less confusing
the biggest note for the author i think, would be to choose your forums. an art school exploratory piece and a dungeon core piece don't seem to mesh particularly well, and the typical reader of one is unlikely to be the typical reader of the other
full credit for trying something new though, i hope this review doesn't discourage you as i'm sure it comes off rather negatively for something you've so obviously worked hard on, and you're clearly very very talented, so keep it up
