- Bt831Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far so good. I really like it. I'll give a more constructive review towards the arcs end, to meet the word quota I'll mention that this is the first novel in six months or so that I've been highly anticipating new chapters. Keep up the good work and ignore the trolls.
- BullerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style is smooth. Paragraph variance lets you skim the text without losing where you got to when looking away. MC is semi-decent but not too sure about them just yet. Will have to read a bit more before I can take motives without salt. Grammar? Good enough. Couldn't find anything serious to point at.
5/5 - GruzenbergRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good fun. Mechanics not very sophisticated so far but the author seems to know how to write.
I personally like rather more in the way of skills/hitt points and am less into the cultivation side of things. The lack of human companionship (so far) is also a sham but that may well change later on. - NatarajaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good read for fan of the genre.
- Style & Grammar
This is well written, no grammar, syntax nor style issues. The layout is good which makes the text pleasant to read. However, English is not my native language, so I may have missed some things...
- Story
The apocalypse arrives on Earth, dragging everyone into a merciless ordeal where only the strongest will survive and acquire powers. Classic. The first chapter is a bit long and full of explanations when we would like to jump into the action faster. In the second chapter we get into the action, the system appears, and it's time to survive! Interesting twist the MC starts the adventure with his familiar cat, it's not an overpowered boost as usual and that's a positive point. The rest is a bit too much video game for me but I know there is an audience for that.
- Character
The MC is interesting, his thoughts and emotions are pretty well described. The dismissal, his love of nature and his cat characterize him well. On the other hand, his past is more or less non-existent, and we quickly pass into the classic LitRPG where the characters fade behind the system and the need to survive. It's a pity. His moral questionings still allow to keep some depth though. - Seb35Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story, very intertaining to read! While the first couple chapters are heavy on infodump, it gets really interesting by the end of ch. 2 and full on action from there!
Would definitely recommend others to try it! I dare say that this is in my top 3 currently updating stories on RR right now! - Shades98Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This author has just started this story. I've read 3 other of their works and have enjoyed them. This is a much more polished story than the others due to the author taking the time to have most of this book prewritten before they posted it here.
This is a different take on Cultivation due to the only way to truly survive the apocalypse is to kill beasts and other people to gain their cultivation. The MC has started the process in the forest so that he is able to try and focus on killing animals and dugeon monsters instead of people. While protecting Her Princess Luna his cat. Great start and I hope it continues with the same professionalism. - Suspened FractalsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0For just three chapters, I'm quite excited to see this story develop as it is unquestionably one of my favorite styles of Xianxia LitRPG fushion and the set up is giving me great hope. I can't wait to see this story unfold. The characters so far have potential and I am quite enjoying the dynamics between beings of great power.
- Thaco4Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0An interesting and unique mix of cultivation and system mechanics. The MC is your average MC but emotion drives his choices rather than cold logic. The growth arc is just starting so it will be interesting to see where the author takes us from here. So far I have enjoyed reading.
- The AlbatrossRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great new story that explores some familiar themes and tropes but seems to have some new ground to tread as well. Well written and good editing so far. I am very excited to see where this story goes. It is well worth the follow to keep up to date.
- emily_mccoshRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Started this story for a review swap, ended up binge-reading all available chapters because I'm enjoying it so much. A very neat litrpg that's definitely weirder than I expected inthe first boss fight. Plus, there's a cat sidekick. Intelligent animals sidekicks are my jam. :)
Style: Solid once the first few chapters are passed. There were quite a few info dumps in beginning, and a bit of simply *telling* us personality traits of the MC instead of showing. After that though, it's solid, and the personality traits are shown later and match what we've been told, so I've no big complaints.
Grammar: If there were any typos, I didn't notice. Was having too much fun reading.
Story: This story is wack. In a good way. :) I'm still a bit new to the litrpg genre, but I'm beginning to get a feel for the tropes and was (and am) enjoying this one for the neat worldbuilding and fun monster hunts.
Then our MC gets pulled into another dimension of sorts with freakish mutant monsters and a boss-level type skeleton goo monster. *Very* weird. I quite like it.
Character: Jack is a fun MC. I'm glad he reacts to situations in a relatively realistic way, horrified and scared by new things, and still respecting human life and what humanity stands for. But he's still tough and quick to learn. And, like I mentioned, we have *Luna*, our fav little animal sidekick cat who...
just leveld up into an awesome, talking wildcat. It'll be fun to see her new form having some action when she's reunited with Jack.
