Description

Tyler is what many would call a completely ordinary boy. In fact, the only difference between him and his peers was the fatal heart condition that would eventually take his life. That is, until he started to dream.

At first, he dreamt of only darkness. The dreams were boring and tiresome, but at least somewhat bearable. One day, however, when Tyler’s heart condition finally starts to bare its teeth, he falls into a dream that he can’t get out of—if it is even a dream at all.

It's an interesting and very welcome take on the isekai genre as whole. Sadly the author will be out for about two years as of this comment, but I look fowards to their return.
Overall, I would have to say that Insomnium is near-flawless in it's composition. The story is paced very well, with the characters having, or being, motivated every step of the way and they don't waste time dilly-dallying. The author ties the story to the title very well, and leaves much to the reader's imagination while still guiding the mind's eye in a clear direction. Many questions are posed to the reader to ask about the world Tyler has been set in, and I look forwards to seeing them answered.
