Description

Frank Martino worked as the handyman for Ashtenburrow Heights, living in the bottom flat with his wife and young daughter. After a routine cleaning of an abandoned apartment, he and his family are transported to Culvert, a shadowy city besieged by vampires, ghouls, and cultists. Now his wife has a craving for fresh blood, and a crazed priest thinks his thirteen-year-old daughter is a demon’s ‘eternal bride.’

Armed with a cursed talisman, pure pigheadedness, and a sword, Frank joins forces with a local witch hunter. Like always, things need fixing, and he'll be the one to fix them.

I rarely stumble upon stories before their 10th chapter and its even rarer that they manage to be comprehensible. Your story however, has all the elements I could ever ask for like decent grammar and descriptive writing, as well as interesting action scenes.
I hope you keep making battle scenes that are plausible. For Frank's first fight after chapter 5, you managed to convey just how brutal and difficult the events were for someone like Frank and not just him being godmode suddenly.
Good job on a great start.

One of the best examples of a mature novel on this site, there is no edgy, overly emotional pubert ranting about how unfair this new world is, instead we have a man doing everything he can to protect his wife and daughter from those that summoned them. Frank isn´t repulsed by killing or ends up mental and killing everything but you can still see he is conflicted each time he does it, this is perfect to show a person that is doing what he must.
The grammar is all there, no spelling or punctuation mistakes, and the narrative is on point making every chapter a finished product that doesn´t need everyone pointing at the mistakes.
Anyway, everyone that can likes true dark novels hould read this.

    Pretty good of chapter 3
And you know killing demons and FFFFFFFFUCKING WITCHES!!! Is always enjoyable though we arnt at that stage yet, only thing we missing now is some Xenos for a real party.
the 3 main characters we currently have, mum, dad, daughter, also seem quite good and written well so that neat.
Only chapter 3 so not much to review just read it yourself.

This story is good example of what should actually happen when high fantasy concepts are included in a culture with 19th century technology and culture. Which is to say, there's a lot of ugly realism where the author doesn't ignore or gloss over the social, political, legal, economic, etc. aspects of a culture that don't match first world sensibilities or high fantasy ideals. It doesn't appear the author is trying to rub it in your face, it's just a style of writing. My point is, if you don't like gritty realism mixed with your fantasy, this is not the story for you.
That said, the overall writing is solid: it is easy to read, the plot and action are easy to follow, and there are no jarring transitions. The MC is an action character rather than a plotter and planner, but he also isn't stupid or too impulsive. I would prefer more of a 'thinky' MC, but that's my personal preference and, to be fair, the guy was thrown in the grinder almost immediately, so he hasn't had time to reflect and plan.
In short, if you like well-written gritty fantasy, read on.
