I'd say the first chapter is quite interesting. By the end it felt like the world might open up rapidly and toss our MC into an interesting whirlwind of happenings. I'm looking forward to it.
Style: I think the paragraphs could use some splitting up, a few of the acronyms could use descriptions/definitions. These are small issues though, I'm happy to say. I can mostly guess at the meaning of the acronyms through context, for example.
Grammar: Some issues with missing spaces, some slightly whacky language, but most readers won't notice, considering how sensitive I am to that stuff, apparently.
Story: Bit early to say, but as I said in the intro, I think it's gonna be interesting, and the chapter certainly made me feel like there'll be action. The first anchor point has been given, as hinted at in the synopsis already - our MC's here to clean up after a failed expedition.
Character: We've only seen the MC so far, and not quite enough to get a thorough read on him. But I imagine being a space lion could be cool. I get the sense that he's a little young, maybe a young adult. He does appear reasonably capable, just not very experienced. I'm pretty sure that he's not plain OP, and I don't know where the story will take him.
