In a Civilized Manner

Description

A self-proclaimed seeker of peace and his trusty "system" venture on a journey to flip the world on its back—in a civilized manner, of course.

Edris has always aimed for a peaceful, carefree life, but the world around him? Not so much. It started with encountering the amnesic, system-like entity in his head. From there, only absurdities followed. Aristocratic conspiracies, mismatched identities, intercontinental wars... Hold on—did he just get called aprophet? In any case, as the world descends into chaos, Edris's carefree life may be just abitfurther away than expected.

UPDATE TUES-THURS-SAT

NOTE:This is a progression fantasy with LITRPG/GameLit elements that start in Part 2 (Ch 58). You should come in expecting a not-so-righteous MC, both laidback and high stake adventures, and multiperspective narratives.

If I were to summarize everything so far in one sentence, it would be:
I'm doing all of this to avoid unnecessary trouble and live peacefully but somehow only results more problems and misunderstandings for myself //cries
An engaging premise that gets even better as it progresses. I came in expecting some generic "I have a system" and "I am OP" story but was happily proven wrong. There's no pointless conflict or stale characters, and I was surprised to find all the foreshadowings seeping through the smallest details. As much as I'm rooting for the MC to fulfill his dream, I'm afraid with his current path and choices, it's only going to get more and more difficult. Poor guy, but at least I'll be reading on to share his misfortunes.

One of the more unique fantasy i read with right mix of mystery, adventure, enexpexted happenings and slightly op mc...
However as mentioned before this has mystery so don't expect any over arching tones till now ..there is one but I'm not even sure if it is a major plot point or simply a prophecy or something..given that its said by an amnesiac...
Give it a try ...good stuff to pass time however only one book and arc for now..cya

I've read up the first few chapters and have to say, this novel is something everyone should at least try at some point. I've read plenty of novels but this one kept my interest, unlike many others.
Style/ Having both the MC and Ace in his head would be confusing to read through, the author made it very clear who is speaking. The paragraphs are short but still filled with enough detail to keep your interest. They don't fall into the trap of going overboard with useless info, so that's good.
Story/ So far the story felt fresh and interesting. Something about the MC made the story interesting. It's clear the author knows exactly where this story is going.
Grammar/ I didn't notice any grammar errors or misspellings. All good on this end.
Character/ I think this is where this story excels over others. Edris and Ace work well together in this story, better than I first thought they would. Edris isn't an idiot and is a very realistic character with realistic actions. And Ace remains somewhat of a mystery of who or what it is.
I would highly recommend this novel, or at least try the first several chapters.

The mc got me hooked, he really makes a great duo with his witty system! Besides Edris doesn’t actually look for trouble to drive the plot forward, in fact he does all he can to keep himself out of danger's way!! It's a pretty refreshing story with every chapter leaving you hungry for more, especially if you are tired of the usual xuanhuan power trips.
Besides the author manages to write compelling conflicts, where victory has a price. Really liked the tournament arc's conclusion!
The author really knows his story, Edris' adventures leave very little space for boredom! It's amusing to see how all his hopes for a peaceful life just have the opposite effect!!

I'm having so much fun reading this.
The MC and his "system" (more like an amnesiac, snappy entity renting out his mind as home) banter every chapter and it's hilarious to read. And don't get me started on our MC. The man's got such a unique character design, so for me he's the highlight of the book. He's got a very particular specific set of morals to uphold, and since he's so self-incentived, he doesn't think of himself as a good person. However—this doesn't stop others from seeing him as one.
The plot is driving by quite a few misunderstandings (entertaining ones, though, so I'm not complaining), but it's engaging misunderstandings that actually make sense after seeing all the situations the MC's getting into. He's got this magnetic field around him that just attracts trouble and random people into his life, regardless of his wishes for a peaceful life.
Not much to say about style and grammar. I'm more focused on plot, so as long as they don't disrupt the flow, it's a default five star for me. The author's good at keeping the momentum between chapters by including at least some sort of relevant event/highlights in all of them.
Anyways, so far it's a fun, light-hearted read and I'm gonna stick by to see where the author goes with this!

It's my first time reviewing, so bear with me if somethings don't follow the typical "format."
Binged up until the new chapter, and I must say the author definitely knows how to write an engaging story.
The story takes place in a fantasy setting and begins with the MC, Edris, entering the capital of the zacriya kingdom. From there, he meets this entity, Ace, that ends up staying with him as they explore the kingdom and get into a ton, and I mean a ton of trouble.
The story is action-packed where one event leads to another, leaving you wanting more. It's lighthearted, yet each situation as its own stakes. I particularly enjoyed the ending of the royal banquet mini arc, but you'll have to read it yourself to see what happened. The author also uses a variety of known and less known tropes, but my personal favorite is all the amusing misunderstandings the MC finds himself in. Everytime he gets through a situation, his reputation (not always a good one) grows in the capital, one that needless to say interferes with his ultimate dream a peaceful life.
I am actively waiting for the next chapter. A highly recommended read.

About a man who wants nothing but money and peace- but is slight interfered by an unknown voice inside his head, Edris’ story is going to be one hell of a journey hopefully in a civilized manner
Style: It tells in a 3rd person perspective, thus, despite  the story centers about Edris and a voice inside his head named Ace. It tells the scenarios with ease and really makes you think that you’re part of that. Additionally, the book tells you about its lore- which is a plus. And I love the execution of moments that made me genuinely chuckle.  It didn’t waist any more words and just be written straight up to the point.
Grammar: It could be improved, although the author did well with the right sentences to be put in a sentence. Very well done
Story: A quite intriguing concept is how the mc and the voice would handle certain situations. Edris just wanted a peaceful life and this voice wanted his memories, and in a world of harshness and fantasy, this duo’s upcoming interaction not to themselves- but to the world around them makes want to read more.
Character(s): I wanted to focus only on the two main characters, but I couldn’t stop getting myself liking the other ones because of how well established they are- thanks to the 3rd perspective,  the author used this as an advantage in order to create more character-building lore. The mc isn’t a hero, so what? At least my curiosity was urged to know how he would handle situations with his wits and cleverness.

Preface: Apart of a review swap.
    ---
Grammar: Yeah, no story-breaking grammar mistakes.
Style: The author's style, while I do have a few issues with it (personal issues), it's consistent throughout the story, so objectively, it's about as good as one can get. The style is third-person limited (I'm assuming) with a distance between you, the reader, and the characters. While I do say it's limited, there is head-hopping particularly between the MC, the side characters, and the outside world/spectators. Sometimes I would like to see the distance collapse, sometimes the paragraphs run a little longer than they should, but it's a consistent, flowing style which is great for any story.
For the author themselves, I do not envy you when you decided to implement seamless head-hopping mid-chapter. I myself will be doing that with my story, so make sure you work on those transitions and ensure they're not jarring.
Story: The story's entertaining and constantly keeps me interested. The author has definitely took time to build their world and implement the details smoothly without making it seem abrupt and sudden. We have Ace, the "system" (I think), who carries most of the mystery while the MC himself has his fare share of intrigue as well. The MC is scheming and cunning (one of my favorite sorts), so it's good to see some brainpower. Overall, I like where it's heading. It's simple but interesting, a good combination.
Characters: For characters, the dynamic between the MC and Ace is funny; it keeps the story engaging especially since these two are our leads. Beyond that, however, this ties back to what I had said earlier in the "Style" section: there is a distance between you and the characters. This may be a personal preference, but I'd like to see a closer look into the characters. Otherwise, I'd say that the fic is just getting started.
    Overall: Entertaining, simple, and clever.

This book reminds me of Dan Brown. It's not gonna win the Pulitzer but it's still damn fun to read. The book is very similar with The Cruel Prince series as the use of language is not very sophisticated but the plot and the narrative brings the story together. Overall it is very good.

I find myself unable to like the MC, Edris. Within the first several chapters, he has attempted to scam several one off / side characters.  Aforementioned characters appear to be mostly fine with it, even after seeing Edris'es duplicitous ways. I stopped reading after Edris began blackmailing (unintentionally?) another side character, and said side character immediately thereafter decides to implicitly trust him.
Overall, from what I've read, great worldbuilding, great grammer. I did not get far enough to rate the story or style. However, I find the character interactions very hard to believe / understand, and find the MC to generally be an unlikable Mary Sue.
