STAFF NOTE: The author had proven ownership. RighteousEgg is the original author. I have added a pinned comment to the first chapter to show this staff note is legitimate.Lin Fei, who had mediocre martial arts talent, unexpectedly acquired a martial arts system. All of his martial arts skills could be self-cultivated.
"Your Giant Whale Body Refining Technique has increased by 50% due to its observation of the 'Long Whale Under the Moon' diagram, which enabled it to comprehend the essence of the technique."
Despite not putting in much effort, Lin Fei's martial arts skills were too diligent...

- Nolden64Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you're looking for an easy read where you don't need to use much brain power, this is the story for you. It has well defined and unique power scaling. The story isn't too repetitive I feel, and the mc isn't super op. There isn't much face slapping or Jade beauties unlike other Xinxia stories which I appreciate. If you don't enjoy some part of the story you can literally skip it and lose very little context. Although the Mc never struggles that much, as I said, this is a passive read to pass the time and that's why I enjoy it.
- TaveruhkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a solid entry into the Xianxia genre, and the setting reminds me of "The Legend of the Condor Heroes".
The writing is a little off, like it was written by someone who speaks Chinese as their first language, resulting in half a point loss for style: it is not quite what one would expect in this context. However, I have found no issues with the grammar, so full marks there. The characterization is adequate, though a little weak; for example, the main character doesn't really have a drive until it becomes plot relevant, and it's a fairly generic "immortality". Other characters mostly exist to react to or be stepping stones for the MC. This is not inherently bad, as a standard trope of the genre, but there is definitely room to flesh out some side characters and give the MC a hobby.
Story I rated a bit lower as it is mostly just a sequence of events, with little to no foreshadowing. Combined with somewhat weak character, the setting doesn't feel "alive", like things could progress without the main character's influence. I am also of mixed opinion about the litrpg system: I feel the author could tell exactly the same story without the system, but on the other hand it doesn't detract at all from the plot and serves as much better justification for the main character's superiority than is commonly given in the Xianxia genre.
While I have listed some slightly rough areas, these do not detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. The style either improves or becomes familiar after the first few chapters (not sure which), the challenges are appropriately scaled that they are just out of easy reach for the protagonist, and though the plot is a relatively simple event chain, the setting and worldbuilding are definitely interesting, and I look forward to the author resolving the central conflict between "born lucky" and "diligent but lacking opportunities". While the MC is in the second camp, the plot provides opportunities for him and the system is a ridiculously luc - MasterthetimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I originally wasn't going to make a review, but I read the reviews for this story and feel like they are not really giving it justice or talking about what I enjoy about it, this story reads exactly like many other different system Chinese martial arts web novels, except it is better translated than most of the ones I end up reading, meaning it is able to fill that desire for Chinese martial arts novels, without the struggle it is to read through machine translation. If you are somebody who often reads translated Chinese novels, maybe on Webnovel or other places, this story is very similar to those stories, except it's better translated, it's clearly done by a human, and while there are some hurdles, it is still much better than normal. This is well translated and fills the spot that Xianxia always has in my heart from Chinese novels, I think it's a good read, but many others clearly disagree.
- ChristopherCravenRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The author has promised two additional chapters for a review
An exciting body cultivation Xianxia LitRPG story. The writing improves as the series goes on at the start it reads very similar to a Chinese translation and improved since then but has still room to grow. The characters are 2 dimensional sadly the martial arts have more personality than most NPCs you will encounter.
Most bandits etc. look down on the mc because it is definitely the first time that a disciple of a major sect is capable to punch above his weight class against bandit cultivators and merc ramble with lesser arts and manuals.
The world is the standard Chinese rule system for mortals with officials and rich merchant houses sponsoring martial artists for protection.
There are Qi cultivators but we only met two so far and the only manual for it the mc found rejected him. But we will see more of it as body cultivation does not increase life span.
We meet his family and he helps them we even had the marriage trope and the female cultivator learnt something from it and was not a bitch about it.
A nice cultivation novel to binge do not expect a Fates Parallel or a certain farmer and you will enjoy it. - Sun HashiraRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Oh man, after reading this for years, the story has finally come to an End at 701 chapters.
The journey of Lin Fei the unparalleled genius who solved his way out of every perilous situation with his intuition and with the help of the anonymous system which was suddenly granted to him by an anonymous source has truly entertained me thoroughly for all this time.
Sarabada Lin Fei, sayonara Immortality starts with Diligence. - dracobearRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The premise is very entertaining, and though it's not executed perfectly, I quite like it. The grammar and sentence structure at the beginning is difficult to get through, but it does improve around chapter 40. The chapters are very short, so it's not too bad. I heavily recommend the author to back to edit the early chapters.
Overall, some broader story elements are standard to xianxia, but I like that, and am interested to see how the story progresses. I am enjoying it more than I expected to.
^w^ - Astral CrystalRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story is very good and it starts off great without any long overdone introduction, instead it quickly shows you the concept and the system and gets right into it. The system itself and the way the cultivation methods act and kind of have personalities and needs is very fun and original although it becomes less common for the methods to show personality in later chapters so I hope they bring that aspect back. The story has plenty of cliches and is about an op protagonist with a system in a cultivation world and the writing reminds me of a novel translation but with great grammar. If you like op protagonists then I suggest you try this one out I personally really like it. Good job author, remember to not burn yourself out with such constant releases.
- SrayanRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0It's an enjoyable, not too heavy, read. Based on young man who acquires a system which enables him to progress rapidly (if not easily) up the martial arts cultivation ladder.
Spoilers below
After a certain threshold of power he begins to (have to) interact with the world outside his sect, with quests, helping out his family, helping out other people, occasionally killing bandits or evil cultivators (although he does keep one as a pet alchemist).
There are some interesting characters who will presumably be developed further. The MC is actually sane logical and not at all stupid which is such a relief on RRL, due to the recent fashion for complete idiots as MCs.
Worth a read if you like Xianxia. - malinizgeldiRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0how far? up to chapter 12. After this point, mc's personality is completely purified from the personality introduced in the first 10 episodes and becomes a different person.
To summarize, mc's trick is this; The skills he trains have their own personality, working principles, needs and do not communicate with MC. they only give a little information through the system. it's a fun system.
but of course entertainment doesn't answer. mc has to kill a man because of his family. but seconds after he regrets it, he goes on a killing spree and says it's okay to even enslave people for different skills.
So I'm asking you. Why do we usually make system series? I read for fun. And this series was. mc was someone who valued his relationship with friends and family from the very beginning and was willing to even take risks for them. but he has reached the point where he abandons his family and friends at this point for his own development. ever in only 19 episodes.
At this point I want to say something. After reading my comment, I hope we realize the author's mistake and you readers will not take this into account and dive into this series with high hopes.
By the way, I'm putting this novel on my watch list and I will continue to read it in the future. I think this novel will pull itself together. - FlamingFalconRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0You get home from a busy day at work. You are tired and want a story to occupy your time.
What do you want from the story? Do you want a deep mystery? How about an impossibly deep world to explore?
Well this story is more like what you want, it’s the Mc Donalds burger you grab when driving home from a long holiday and got stuck in traffic. It’s midnight and you are starving.
The story scratches your xianxia, op mc itch. Without the hippocritical mc’s or harem that makes you go why am I reading this.
It’s not a great literary work. But as a book to pick up and just read/enjoy. It works rather well. With all the dopamine of the fast rise to power and all that is associated with that. As well as a satisfying use and development of the “saber dao” you see in the chinese novels.
Also as far as systems go, I was pleasantly surprised by it being more unique than usual.
Anyway if you enjoy a good xianxia novel, but want none of that mtl garbage. Here is your next read.

update:
It feels at this point like the novel has perhaps run its course. And that the chapters are feeling less relevant and just made to pad out and keep the novel going. So I’d say rn it’s about a 3*. But since so much is enjoyable. I’ll leave it at 4.
