Description

Jonathan Vélo never expected to be famous. Not for riding his bike all the way around the continent of Icomo.

Every adult knows his story, and children learn about him at school. This, however, is the first and only biography written about that great man with foreigners in mind. We, his biographers, imagine they will be immensely grateful.

Of course, readers will find the people of Icomo an unusual sort for glorifying a young man who did nothing more than quit his job and ride his bike from town to town, city to city… But in an age of robots and computers, when little escapes the notice of the historian, there is a quiet epic to be told.

It is the epic of cozy nights in a tent below the stars, of warm wind and ocean waves. It is also the epic of missing old friends in faraway places, and that feeling of needing to make life mean something.

***

‘ICOMO ODYSSEY’ is a nostalgic slice-of-life adventure about a utopian sci-fi land. No clever villains or epic fights here. Just cozy pleasures, charming towns and villages, interesting cultures, and the people who live in them…

This story will updatebi-weeklyon Friday and Saturday.

I am not a smart duck. I do not remember names, motivations, and much else other than the plot. That's why it is absolutely great to have those small info-dumps in the ANs. It's not directly related to the story, and so it wont change the rating I am giving, but it should be mentioned how much I love it.
Story? Great. I feel that it hasn't really started up since MC will only now be going on a real adventure. We've had a general idea of the plot in the next couple of chapters, though, so it's pretty good. Grammar is fine as well. 5/5 for what I've read.

Love the Eye system! The main character seems to me like a relatable individual, choosing to see the truth of the world instead of living in a dream like one.
I imagine we all wish to travel the world, at least to some extent, and showcasing his fears of "leaving everything behind" just makes it more real to me.
Overall, have fun writing, and I'm looking forward to more chapters!

Icomo Odyssey plays a Uno Reverse Card against our dystopian future. Against a bleak world, human simply decided to play fair. That way, Icomo Odyssey is a very refreshing read, especially since it roots for the slice-of-life way of doing. All the elements are gathered for a simple, cozy read to escape the sad reality and the recent events in eastern Europe. A fairy tale which will warm you as a cup of Earl Gray would.

Reading this story feels like going through a reverse-dystopia. All of the elements are in place to create a potentially terrifying world (robots, bio-augmentations), but the people of the story manage to keep things together.
A pleasant read about a man and his dreams on a small island. Short chapters makes for fun, bit-sized adventures. Don't expect much action, but rather nice and emotional exchanges between characters.
