- Lordp00mRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Enjoyable read so far. Love the concept. I’m a little worried with the title and what you can come up with to keep it interesting (villagers usually don’t have very interesting lives) but i have faith.
One thing that bothers me is the unnatural conversations though. They are quite short and abrupt in my opinion. For example, jumping from “Oh, you’ve been working.” to “I have no money” without anything said in between is very unnatural. The change in topic is too abrupt. You might want to fill out the conversations more to give the characters more depth by asking the mayor about his work or other stuff. Or if you don’t want that, you can put some narration in between, for example saying “they eat in quiet for a while” or talk about the actions of the wife who is surely doing stuff in the kitchen.
