- SlaughterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A story about a retired old man becoming a werewolf and then meeting his extended family.... with a twist.
The strength of the story is how much the maturity of age changed how a newly turned werewolf would react. This is not a testosterone young man who thinks with his fists. It's a smart and calm older man who has learned wisdom as he aged.... and then was turned into werewolf. - Blind Snot DragonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Story is a hidden gem about a senior citizen navigating his new life as a werewolf. You've got single dad parenting, elderly dating and cringy old people jokes galore. It's sweet, slice of life with a good kick of action with more on the horizon.
Honestly reminds me a bit of Twilight with the secret world going on beside the human world except Bella is a 65 year old man who won the lottery.
The story isn't perfect, it's got it's fair shair of misspells and grammar mishaps and the characters can come off slightly 2d but the author does a great job developing the gran kids as complex characters so I have faith the rest will be further developed with time.
The tension or conflict can fall flat at times, so far at ch40 there have been threats both immediate and existential posed but both don't really seem to concern the main character so by extension they don't phase (at least me as) the reader.
All in all I'd definitely give it a go if you want less grimdark antihero and more elderly wish fulfillment with decent story, plot and characters!
This has been a review by everybodies favorite snot dragon! - ElvenDenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a story about a man whose grandchildren suddenly came into his life. As well as some magic stuff like vampires, werewolves, a lawyer with a conscience, winning the lottery, witches and ni... oh, sorry, we don't use that word (the right words are in the book).
An attack by kidnappers or a showdown with an impulsive witch, or the impending danger of reprisals from several stubborn and very powerful oldies? Well, it will be enough to allocate 0.5 or one chapter to this for every four-five chapters of feeding, shopping, walking with grandchildren (and most importantly, joke as many dad's and granddad's jokes as possible).
Then I made my way downstairs and started up the waffle mix.
Magic warriors in the night. Strange witchcraft in the air. Not a concern. Right now I had family to feed. - HegelundRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0copied from my comment on the last chapter:
finally got around to finishing this book, really enjoyable and a relaxing read. not anywhere near as exciting or complex as something like mecedes thompson or all those great urban fantasy stories, but it gives me the same feeling that book 0 of alpha and omega did, like an extended prologue into a much wider world, and it should say something that i'm even comparing this story to those. i think you really have something special here with this world you've started to build, and i'll be jumping into the sequel immediately. thanks for writing.
i think the character writing and dialogue was really pretty good in this.
my real overall rating is actually a 4 out of 5 but i put it at a 5 to hopefully help boost the algorithm.

Its got a unique setting, and I'm excited to see where the story will go.
typy typy type. Is this 50 words yet? Typy type type. - StormrunnerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Smooth reading. Morning is going to hurt.
It needs some minor editing. A little bit of dropped letters here and there with a small name or pronoun usage mix ups
Missing out on sleep as I keeping reading just one more chapter.
Now going back to the story before hopefully getting some small amount of shut eye before work in the morning. - JoyueguieRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A good story - grammar good, characterization good, world building good - a worthwhile read. I recommend it. It's not terribly action driven but there is enough suspense and minor lurking bad guys to drive the story! I rushed right through, now I'm waiting to see how the story develops.
- KasshernRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This was a really cool take on the genre. I love the supernatural writings but it usually gets stupid dark or stupid sexual. This was none of that. Following a 60 year old granpa who becomes a werewolf was just fun. Gramps has a fun attitude and seems to be a guy who enjoys life. His grandkids give him a tough time but in a natural kind of way. He isn’t some big killer ready to destroy the world. He’s a guy who wants to love on his family and enjoy getting to know the descendants he didn’t know he had. Definitely worth the read.
- AlsoJohnRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The story, a contemporary urban (if urban includes small towns) cosy (if cosy includes werewolves vs witches vs "not" ninjas with a side of vs vampires) found feuding family story is just that strong. Fortunately I came to it late so I was able to read it in the span of a day. There is one brilliant pun but given the typo level it's difficult to know weither the author or auto correct appropriately snuck in seanced for sensed. Editing counts author guy!

0 - Time Traveler KnightRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This was a really fun story with an Achilles heel of constant typos, hominems of the intended word, and -for me- frustrating grammar.
It feels pretty slice-of-life and has fun cooking and shopping episodes, LOL. It also explores the fun of wealth. It's not a super serious yarn, probably worth your time!
