- The Random CatRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Isekai gets a new look in Tomato in the street's I want to get isekaid but the world does not want me too, the book is a thrilling, and completely exhilirating ride. Wether it be humour you're after or just a simple old book to pass the time, the story has it all.
Style: A lot of old school readers will scowl and say "Where's the epic feel? The saga?It feels like the MC is trying to stumble his way into another world, well let me tell you, that's exactly what this is about and it suits it perfectly
Story: Well the plot isn't really very clear yet...But isn't that the whole point of the story? Otherwise it's just a Cardassian classic- Everybody dies for the state. Looking forward to more Grammer:
Grammer: Grammer's iffy, prepositions aren't really that well used, but you know what? It doesn't really matter, the rest of the things more than make up for it
Character: Now this is the crowning jewel, the characters aren't hollow or even stereotopic, they all have more than one layer to them and I look forward to seeing them all
Hope you will check it out just like me and enjoy the thrill that comes with it! - Marcus BreezeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an entertaining read with lots of references to other isekai stories. If you like those types of anime, then you will get a kick out of this, but if you have not seen any isekai anime you will have trouble keeping up with what is going on. This is a story made for fans of the genre by a fan of the genre.
Character – This is where the story Shines the most. The main characters motivation is simple, but relatable. Who has not dreamed of going on a fantastical adventure to a mystical world? I know I have spent far too many hours… or days… maybe years of my life daydreaming about it.
Story – The story jumps around a bit in the beginning, mostly to display the personality of the main character. A few chapters in, is when the real story starts, creating an interesting world of isekai tropes and references for the readers amusement.
Style – The writing style is reminiscing of many Japanese light novels. It could use a bit more setting explanations and details of who is talking or doing what, but it serves the story well enough.
Grammar - There are a few mistakes here and there, but nothing major.
All in all, I think this is a great start to a story and though it might need some editing, it is still a story worth following. - BullerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I felt the title was appropiate. Sue me.
I can't earnestly say much about the style this story is written in, seeing that it reminds me of so many others of this genre. I need to fully say that I didn't like it. Yet, I also don't like the style in general, which creates some amount of bias. Looking at it another way, the style is the same one that is seen in a lot of the more popular stories in this genre. Must mean something positive.
Story is dumb enough to turn the brain off. Good enough for a lunch break. 4.5/5 - slokRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Before I get into this: I have read only a few isekai fictions, and that's because they aren't my favourite thing in the world. Still, this is a funny inversion of the various tropes among the ones I have read, and it's very fun. That's the main thing, I enjoyed myself reading this.
Style: I gave it a 3.5/5 mainly because it's very to the point if that makes sense. I feel a few more descriptions here and there would help liven up the story itself, making everything come just a tad more alive. For instanse a lot of the paragraphs consist very basic information regarding the actions of the characters, which is something that is also most likely the author's choice. Plus I can still enjoy the story well enough, so it's not a big problem for me.
Grammar: There are a few mistakes grammar-wise, but they lessened as the chapters progressed, and they didn't take me out of the story, which is how I landed on the 4/5
Story: A 4/5 once more. This is because, while the basic premise is clear enough, some events are a bit jumbled and all over the place. However, the reverse Isekai is a very fun concept, and executed very well here, in a lot of interesting and funny scenarios.
Character: The characters have only a few moments where I feel they didn't work as well as they could, mostly in the beginning, but they all have their unique voices and characteristics that make them stand out, and interesting to read. The main character stands out to me as the most fun here, and is pretty well writtenin general. With that in mind I went with the 4.5/5 - CookieCrumbleRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Fair warning to ye who didn't get what the truck picture truly meant. This novel was a work of parody of the genre itself, teetering between the holy trifecta of so-much-reference-it-bordered-a-fanfiction-rather-than-fair-use, adapted/original-style-that-elevate-its-medium, and I'll-have-what-the-author-smoking-please.
Tomato in the Street had managed to weave a contemporary, yes, a very contemporary, just-in, tapestry of otaku/anime culture within a webserialized novel, it read very much lke 4-koma, that I could not in my beating heart, believe what I just read.
It told a (non-existent) story of a guy (of course it's a guy) who wanted to get isekaied, but as the title said the world didn't want him to, so like a good reverse uno card, he (spoiler alert) had everyone else isekaied to his home instead. I know, hilarious.
The characters as the style demand was, blase, two-dimensional, peppy, and made you rolling on the floor with laugh (yes, I made a rofl pun, sue me). Which of course apt. They were a caricature of a caricature. Parody.
Now a bit of a downside, it required, and I meant required at least a thousand hours (or whatever arbitrary big number that you found suffiecient) slumming in the murk and depth of anime/manga otaku-culture, thank heaven and all god above, this red cherry tomato choice those anime and manga that most popular, otherwise it'd be like reading 15th century inside joke between a butcher and his customer about a donkey pelt (you don't get it, don't you? That's why it called inside joke).
Grammar was fine.
In conclusion, honestly, if you in for a twenty-minutes laugh, laughing until your jaw hinged off (assuming you get the joke), well, this is the novel for you, dear readers.

First-person, POV changing novel with a lot of references from otaku world. Even though I was once an otaku, I only recognize the names just about 60-70%, so if you’ve never been an otaku, this novel is going to be quite difficult to follow and absorb into the story. But if you’re the real otaku, then you’d like this story very much.
Story
I would recommend this novel to be made anime and I’ll watch it when I’m stressed from work. It’ll totally relax my brain like my other favorite comedy slice-of-life series of anime. This really reminds me of Hayate the Combat Butler (Hayate no Gotoku!) which is the anime that had made me laugh until I cried every single episode. Not that I cried over this novel though, but I might be if it was made into an anime.
Grammar
Normally, I won’t comment too much on grammar if the story is still readable; however, the errors are all over the place. Luckily, they are the same kinds of errors where you could practically get that it’s going to be there in the future as well.
Character
Hinata is just so dumb that I have to give him five stars. In every turn of events, I didn’t expect him to think that way. Always having positive thinking, but the reality betrays him through and through in the most hilarious way possible. And I think the dumbness is contagious in this novel. The guy that was smart at first becomes dumb later in the story. Well, that’s what makes this novel a gag one. - TwilightAuthorRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Style: The narration is done in a first person point of view. The pacing is very fast, to the point where the story would benefits with slowing down and spending more time on descriptions. There are a lot of references to anime and isekai in general. I'm clearly not the targeted audience since I didn't get a lot of them. Maybe tone down the references?
Grammar: Grammar is okay, a few mistakes but nothing major that made the story unreadable. The author is clearly not a native speaker, so I can understand some mistakes. However, it's still hard to comprhened in a few sections, mostly because of the fast-paced narration. Most paragraphs are really short, so that combined with the grammar issues can make understanding certain scenes quite hard.
Story: The 'story' is fitting for the genre. Some random, generic guy wants to be isekaied but can't, so he isekai everyone to him instead. There isn't much to it other than that. It reads like a japanese slice-of-life isekai, whre nothing matters much and the 'arcs' could be read in any order and not affect anything.
Character: Like I said before, this story reads like a bog standard japanese isekai. So the characters are bland, and rather two-dimensional. - Aether ApostleRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Humurous with a serious undertone layered in between, the story's pacing will take you on a ride from hilarious (at least to me) twists to serious ones, and even both simultaneously for good measure.
A well done parody-spin off (I assume that's the intention) of all these ridiculously popular Self-insert/isekai tropes sprouting up everywhere like weeds nowadays. I have no doubt that most Fanfic readers will consider this a fresh breath of air and at the same time understand the Main character on an intimate level.
Style Score: Fast paced and simple, there is no purple prose here or poetic language, all down to earth and relatable moments and reactions. There was a significant amount of the breaking of the narrative First-person POV amongst certain passages, but because of the quick pacing, it can easily be overlooked.
Grammar score: Like with a lot of authors, there can be improvements, but I urge readers to forgive some of the paragraph spacing in some later chapters, that's probably just an editing error on the system.
Character Score: The dialogue between characters and personal thoughts of the POV had some golden moments, as well as doing a great job at defining each character's personality. 5.
Story score: The Japanese setting and the supernatural events places the story in an interesting narrative atmosphere that is just as purposeful as it is serendipitious in nature. The plotline is moderately easy to follow, considering the constant change in settings, and the familiarity the reader feels with the MC is a solid plus in the story immersiveness. I think some more refining to the prose and writing of the story can take better advantage of this.
Overall, a very fun read, that's bound to get a laugh out of you somewhere.
(Especially the 'plant-note') - KathyRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5So the story has great potential, and fun ideas going through it.
As far as the story goes, there's a nice mix between chapters acting like anime episodes / manga chapters, and overarching continuity as it gets further in. The continuity is what I think of as the real story, and that has its moments, but I don't think it's why you would keep reading. Reading it reminds me of reading a manga, but not really reading a book. There's a lot of wacky humour in it. It feels like watching an anime, and if you're very familiar with and enjoy all the anime tropes, you'll probably get a laugh here and there. There were some enjoyable moments that way.
That being said, I have to bring up the style issue I had here. Like I said, it doesn't feel like a novel. It's stream of consciousness from the head of the main character pretty much continuously. We only peice together what's happening by his reacting to it. There's not really a lot of narration so to speak, it's all told from the character's reactions. As a result, it's hard to follow what's happening, and a lot of details are assumed to be understood. The world does come out as slightly cardboard in style, because we never really see it. That being said, the character's voice was entertaining enough. I feel like style is definitely something to be worked on going forward.
The main character's premise is funny. He wants to get isekai'd but the world is against him doing so. Even the side characters have interesting premises; the dragon slayer who has never slain a dragon; the summoner who can only summon notebooks... But that's pretty much it. Don't expect much depth here, they're pretty much what you see is what you get and serving comedic purposes. They serve the main character without really wills of their own so much. I hope that as the story progresses they come more into their own. That being said, I did find them somewhat entertaining, and there is potential with them.
Grammar was fine, I had no real issues with indivi - Little RacoonRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Overall: the story follows Hinata Tasuke, a young twenty-year old boy who wishes to be isekai'd, except that he doesn't get to, and instead follows a sort of reverse isekai where characters from other worlds enter his world and becomes friends with each other... and they fight a dragon, a commander, and some other things.
Style: 3.5 stars. Descriptions and dialogues are relatively simple, paragraphs being mostly one or two lines. Not exactly my cup of tea as I feel there are more details that can be elaborated, but I did enjoy the many references to other isekai or anime, references which can be expected to be understood from the intended audience.
Story: 3 stars. It was honestly... all over the place. It felt a little clunky at times, the story moving from one scene to the next in astonishing speed. The premise and comedy was quite well articulated, but it sort of becomes directionless after a few chapters, and to be frank, I had to reread chapters a few times just to have a sense of where I'm at. Might have to do with the shorter paragraphs which I touched on earlier.
Grammar: 3.5 stars. I can follow, but again, it felt a little confusing at times. There were some errors in spelling, structure, etc. but it is slowly improving.
Character: 3 stars. They all seem to be a bit flat, sometimes more central, sometimes just like props. I did somewhat like the dynamic between characters, though, as it is through them and the mc that lots of the comedy, quite core to the story, is presented.
A pretty good, unique premise and story, and I look forward to the days ahead when the author improves his skills and brings it to its full potential.
