- Zara IzabellaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love this story
It can have spelling mistakes and grammatical errors
But I adore the story. 2 chapters are published nearly every single day, and I've been reading them every day after technical college
So the main character is Su, he's some kid from China playing soccer in a youth squad of a C rank team. Su gets a system that makes him the best in the world at passing. Su earns attribute points to put into his system to turn him from being a mediocre amateur teenage player to progressively becoming a greater and greater soccer player making a huge splash after developing as a player so quickly.
He does have a magical cheat system that let's him pull glorious wins out of the jaws of defeat.
The story is a power fantasy, Su is absolutely the main character and he glides through life, overcoming adversity and coming out on top building a greater and greater legacy. Proving his cleverness and cunning, wheeling and dealing as a budding celebrity.
A lot of the story is focused on Su being the first Chinese soccer player to have a breakout performance overseas. A fair amount of the words in this story is taken up by Chinese netizens staying up till 2 am to watch Su play, reacting to him and the game as he steadily becomes a Chinese national hero.
This story definitely isn't for every, but it is for me.
It's a feel good power fantasy with silly hijinx, a cast of Su's handful of close comrades, and the turbulent drama of professional soccer.
It isn't meant to be realistic, and Su has a magical system that makes him the best teenager to ever play soccer.
The story is a cartoon full of drama, where spectacle after spectacle happen through the chapters.
I guess the story is a lot like a sports anime
If you go into the story expecting these things, and have the patience to look past the bad grammar in the early chapters, then you'll be able to experience a fun, humours, feel good story about soccer.
The author has improved a lot at writing in English through writing the story - QimHaHaRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I suggest you read this novel if yoyu looking for Football oriented novel. Nothing better to describe how smooth this novel been. Nice grammar and easy to understand, everone can enjoy it. Eventhought Main Character is bit Overpowered.
Power system is good and side character in this novel is not without substance. They carry this story and it been enjoyfull for me. - Aren WalkerRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Hello. Hope you're doing well.
It's been over a year since I last read a story on royal Road. I stumbled on this fic due to its uniqueness. I have never read a football centric fic before.
Regardless I really enjoyed the fic, and though there is a lot of room to improve, the story is simply fun.
Thank you and take care. - Pr0ximityRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Disclaimer: Turn away now if you don't want spoilers.
Style: I like it. As a half-Chinese reader who is somewhat fond of football and Chinese stories, (e.g. Reverend Insanity, Lord of the Mysteries) this novel holds a place dear to my heart. It flows better than most novels when translated into English. Not my favorite style but still one that I like. Only qualms I would have are the overindulgence in national pride but other than that pretty good. 4.5/5
Story: After reading it in its entirety as of the time of writing, I've come to really like the story. It holds a combination of elements from both Chinese and Western novels that feels unique rather than forced. The arcs flow smoothly from one to the other, and there is a sense of continuity present. Has a unique-ish premise that the author is able to capitalize on well. 5/5
Grammar: As with almost all Chinese novels the grammar is different from the usual Western style most are used to as this has most likely been translated. It is a unique flavor of writing one can or cannot tolerate. The grammar sometimes diminishes the experience but the story all but makes up for it. 3.5/5
Characters: Was initially going to rate this a 4.5 but I thought more. Most of the characters feel like one-offs made to fill space and never be seen again. Even recurring characters such as Hao and Baumann fell somewhat one-dimensional. This is seen the most in the protagonist. Although he acts somewhat stereotypical at times (horny teen, nonchalant protagonist that somehow gets all the girls) in key moments of the story he shows significant growth. 4/5
Conclusion: Not for everyone, but unless you're an extreme stickler for grammar that it'll make you turn red like a tomato in rage, I would ask you to give this a try. Even moreso for football (or soccer for the Americans) and Regression lovers. Give it a try.
P.S. The author has a somewhat irregular release schedule. - IphigelinaRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0So...I'm a girl who never watch football save when my own country is in the last three or two match of the mondial. I won't insult real fan with any pledge of fleeting interest.
I came to this story for the Isekai part, I love this type of plot where the main character has a secret edge on everyone.
To be fair Su is maybe a little bit OP here, we shall see how it continue further in the story. But a little bit OP isn't a drawback for me. A too realistic struggle with real bitter loss on the way isn't my cup of tea. In that I perfectly enjoy the plot of the story. It's not a materpiece of plotwist and full of original ideas but when you read it you stay tuned !
I must also say that as someone who is totally ignorant to the soccer world I didn't understand jack shit about the different position, the statistics of the players, and the varied strayegy in a match. For me soccer was this game where it take à whole lot of times for maybe 2/3 mn of interesting thing to happens. And really I thought that with what we saw they were all overpriced midly talented sportsman. But with a proper explanation and a story where it's not just one goal per match I can finally see something more complex and interesting than I thought it was.
This story make me think that soccer, when you really understand it, can be interesting. And maybe I can understand a little bit better the hype that is there in real life.
All in all, I'm a fan and I plan to continue to read this story as long as the author post.
Go try it yourself
(Ps: english isn't my native language, so sorry if there is some stange turn of phrase) - serrarRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Hey,
I like this kind of storys. The amuse me to no end, but sadly the grammar is horrible. Double sentences, wrong words and the classic wrong pronouns ( suddenly the man is a woman and then a men again, lol). Of course you can also tell it is written by a Chinese person so don't be surprised if you see their patriotism and xenophobia in there. It's not much but it is there. Well I still read it cause like I said I find it funny. :D - ThorupRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Decent story about a (very) Chinese soul who is put into the body of a chinese teenager doing a tryout for a german football team. He is almost immdiately turned into the "greatest passing player in the world". He then has to integrate into a new team.
Seemed interesting, but the weirdly google-translated story threw me off. Measurements are sometimes in inches, sometimes in feet. Every turn of phrase seems foreign, and sentences are often repeated and just slightly changed. This makes everything seem disjointed and poorly translated.
This is sad to see, as the premise is solid and the author posts new chapters all the time. - habanjamelRoyal Road★★ 2.0its a bullshit story, looks like made by an AI story and Chinese these, Chinese that, everything has to be connected to being Chinese. like bruh.
50 words requirement is also stupid man. hsass s s s s s s s s d s s sbbsbsbsbsbsbbsbsbs s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s e e e e eeb
