I'm Just the Librarian
Community Rating
Description
Thea is the daughter of a landless baronet whose love for books resulted in her becoming a librarian in the library for commoners in the Elourian Empire's capital. When her homeland becomes the epicenter for people mysteriously gaining unique skills, she remains on the sidelines and skill-less for a decade, but that all changes when the reason for those skills walks right into her quiet little library--with a whole lot of trouble in his wake.Follow this tale of a skillful book lover as she protects what she loves, builds relationships she never expected to have, and smashes former gods into the ground. She may achieve great things, but she's still "just the librarian."
This story is more on the lighthearted side, but there are some scenes with violence and possibly gore. Content warnings will accompany chapters with sensitive topics or descriptions. Those scenes should be read at the reader's discretion.

- CyuriaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0TLDR; no problems, but needs more chapters for an accurate review
I got hooked in the first two chapters and now I'm sad...
If I remember to, I'll update the review once more chapters are out.
Apart from that I have yet to find a single issue with the story so far. The grammar is good, the MC is likeable and the story covers interesting topics for me.
One thing is that the MCs backstory is entirely covered by the synopsis and currently has no references, it could be a good idea to add some kind of prologue from the MCs childhood to provide backstory. Otherwise, you could add tidbits of info here and there in the initial chapters at least, which can also provide character backstory. I noticed you did that by mentioning the MCs family at one point, so that may be the plan.
Now I need to spend another fifteen minutes trying to find another good story :(
Edit:
I updated to five stars, cos it's really interesting even though it doesn't yet have that many chapters - Daoist RoninRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a much more laid back story that creates very well written characters where even sides characters don’t seem 1-dimensional. It might not be the dopamine number go up destroying evil every chapter but I am still compelled to read it nonetheless. Can’t wait to add this to my list of web novels to follow.
50 words long word word. - Elanor the Rainbow SunRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The MC is a simple Librarian with a heart of gold. The child is also very heartwarming and a fascinating character because he's smart yet naive. The surrounding cast is also very enjoyable. The story isn't all that complicated but since it's focused on the characters, that doesn't matter at all. The heartwarming and cozy style contrasts very well with the short bursts of danger when the plot picks up in pace. The grammar is simply flawless
- tutpuppyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've been following this one since the beginning, but just realized that I'd never written a review. Story seems to be shaping up to be a fantasy romance, but it's well written enough that it could dodge in some other direction on the romance part. I am enjoying it so far, but, for the impatient, it does move slowly. Grammar is very good.
- lillipad7800Royal Road★★★★ 4.0I absolutely love the story; from the world building to subtle details given to each character. Always Dreaming just has a way to keep me sucked into the story just begging for more. And I really mean MORE. I'm excited to learn more about Thea's and Luin's world. I can't wait to see how the plot unfolds.
