I'm a Veteran Adventurer in a World without Healing Magic.

Description

It's a fantasy world just like any other, orcs, elves, monsters, adventurer's guilds... Just one catch, though: there's no such thing as healing magic. Get a nasty wound from the monster you're fighting? There's nothing to patch you up, not so much as a red potion or a cure light wounds spell! All you can rely on are mundane medical procedures to help you get back on your feet. And those don't come cheap!

You can probably guess that injuries that in other worlds would be minor are rather costly in one where the priest class doesn't exist. What kind of dungeoneering community springs up in an atmosphere where a simple cut can mean lethal infection? How do dungeon crawlers find workarounds when conventional combat proves too dangerous?

A veteran warrior who senses his time is near puts to pen a final record, a shocking tell-all about his adventuring career...

I've only read the first three chapters of "I'm a Veteran Adventurer in a World Without Healing Magic" but holy molly am I already loving the read!
Few novels have given me such thrills, and I'm not just being nice when I say each chapter so far has been a breath of fresh air compared to what I was expecting (mostly some unnecessarily violent novel without the feels to back up the adrenaline).
If you read the description, you know what the story's all about; an old man (for an adventurer, that is a mere 35 years old) writing all about his adventuring days to prevent the new generation of adventurers to make the same mistakes he made, be it rookie mistakes or being too greedy for your own good.
Style 4/5: it's really good, it hooks you, leaving you wanting to hear the rest of the story (although he is "writing" down his past, it feels more like some wise aged man telling you tales of his time). Although it's not poetic, more brutal like the line of adventurers, it doesn't need to be, and that is because the writing is well-mastered, he knows how to properly separate fights and relaxing times, so you'll have your heart beating from anticipation and fear when a fight goes awry.
Grammar score 5/5: So far I haven't seen any typo, although some might have passed unnoticed.
Story Score 5/5: The world feels alive, the hero talks about events and things like the Three Days Night or the eluding, possible reawakening of the Demon King, without explaining the basics of it, because of course, who wouldn't know about it, huh? (the answer is us) but seeing the quality of the work so far I don't have any doubt that we'll hear more about it later in the story.
Update: okay, so a lot happened between me writing this review and where the story is at now, and although I haven't caught up to the three latest chapters (thing I will probably do this week-end) I can now say the story is AWESOME and doesn't let me nitpick at anything at all. It was already beautifully awesome before, now it

I love this story but it's currently on hiatus as I'm writing this review. I highly recommend you check it out though, I thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling shown here and hope others give this story a chance.
Read the first 5 chapters and you will know if you will like it moving forward, it depends on how you feel about the first few chapters.
The writing style is unique as it immerses you in a story that fully feels like a man who is rambling about the events he goes through in a sort of journal entry style.
The world is a standard fantasy world but the setting feels much more brutal and unforgiving than most fantasy stories. The main character is a flawed and extremely bleak character with a lot of regrets and a lot of self-loathing.
If I had to complain about one thing, it is the fact I don't know how the timeline fits in the story, sometimes it feels as if the succeeding chapter has gone back in time due to the nature of the storytelling being a journal entry of sorts. I might just be stupid and confused about it unnecessarily.
Overall, this story is VERY underrated and hopefully, it gets more popularity.
I also wish the writer to continue the story and not place it on hiatus.
