Li Ao is a young master.

Li Ao is very talented when it comes to cultivation.

Li Ao is also a bit of an idiot.

Universe decided it would be a good idea to make Li Ao do its bidding.

Now Li Ao goes between other realms and solves other people's problems...

Maybe it isn't such a good idea?

Please read the story first to satisfy your curiosity. This part is more intended for those who read at least some chapters.

A Cultivation/System(Not quite)/Dimensional Travel story.

There are some quirky elements. The idea itself is inspired by Astral Apostle, an excellent novel that has a largely different execution and a little similar premise. I highly recommend it if you like Sci-fi/Multiverse-Traveling/System novels.

First four-five chapters are rough, as you'd expect. But it should give you an idea of what it will be about.

I'll be pretty free about the story's progression and if we reach a certain level of active readership, I might open polls to decide which missions to proceed.

Schedule is random, minimum is anything I post and maximum anything I post. Right now, minimum seems to be 5 chapters a week. Max is around 13 chapters. Don't be too hopeful now!

Long have I hungered for a good xianxia novel, and at last I have found my peace. "I Have Become an Agent of the Universe" is witty, meaningful, and self-aware without sacrificing any commitment to itself. The worldbuilding is of a Tolkien sort. Each faction is unique, shaped by the happenings and facets of the world, and in turn shape the world around them in rebounding ripple effects. They vie for power very actively within the story, such that they feel like real characters rather than just backdrops. It helps that the protagonist holds enough power to impact the factions, but not nearly enough to avoid being retaliated against. Such is the balance necessary for any character to really feel interesting and part of the story- the protagonist must be able to impact them, and they, the story. My favorite monkey man does that quite well: for example, one sub-setting in particular is established (via showing, not telling) as treacherous in the literal sense. Combine that with artful demonstrations that fights are more than comparisons of whose numbers are bigger, and the fact that there are very real stakes which wouldn't make the story one bit less exciting to read if they were lose. Now mix in the extraordinary depth of characters, who remain independent creatures long after their initial debut, and who are invariably thoroughly fleshed out, and almost always much deeper than what is shown at a glance. What do you get? A story where the reader never knows for certain what character or mistake might throw the protagonist into extreme peril, or earn them riches beyond measure (at least until he buys a bigger scale). 10/10, would recommend.
Style-wise, it picks up really sharply in a good way after the first couple chapters. There are a few spelling/grammar mistakes, but there's plenty of eloquence to compensate.
