Updates daily at 10:07am PST until end of April 2026 Disowned by her family, exiled elven noblewoman Alta Marchesi is forced to do the unthinkable: become a contributing member of society. Desperate and broke, she enrolls in Dungeon School, an infamous  academy committed to training future adventurers in the dangerous, yet lucrative world of dungeoneering. Alta is on a mission to not only master the skills necessary to survive, but to claw her way back to a life of luxury one gold coin at a time. Together, with the support of fellow quirky outcasts, Alta vows to make it through Dungeon School alive and far, far richer. But not all is as it seems. Ancient secrets run deep within the dungeons. As Alta delves deeper, her list of rivals grows, including old enemies from her past, resurfacing dark truths about the family that cast her out. Can Alta survive school, a part-time job, while battling rivals, *and* still have time to smooch lips with her new girlfriend? Probably, but she’s going to grumble about it the whole time. Being born into a life of titled luxury and privilege, Alta Marchesi never dreamed she would be disowned and slumming it in a shared school dorm as an apprentice dungeoneer.Of course, she never thought she would be great at it either, but here she begrudgingly was, gaining knowledge, weapons and skills from the best dungeon school in Revenstahd, with a successful dungeon run added to her belt and more to come. However, her less-than-ideal new life is thrown into chaos when her training, classes and dungeon crawls suspiciously go awry. And the noble family who mercilessly threw her out on her derriere are rebelling against the crown. Now, Alta must navigate her schoolwork with a looming threat hiding in plain sight, manage the secrets and quirks of her dungeon party and discover whether her family’s rebellion is connected to the ongoing sabotage of her potential livelihood. With so much on her plate, will she successfully graduate from the Dungeon School she despises so much?CervineComedy writes a solid comedy that has you snickering at the very first line. He seems to find a way to deliver his more dramatic scenes, seen from the light-hearted, albeit cynical, humour of Alta, without taking away from the seriousness of the events occurring in her purview. You cannot help but like his portrayal of Alta Marchesi as a stubborn curmudgeon with a heart of gold. She may seem mostly aloof and unfriendly, but is strong and cunning, tender and supportive when they are needed and matter the most. Traits that tend to get her into more trouble than she can handle. The three other members of her party, Myth, Cori and Smitty have distinct personalities and motivations that drive them, despite Alta not knowing much about their backgrounds.By far, the only major issue I have with I Hate Dungeon School! is with its grammar and spelling. The first few chapters are a bit rough. Later chapters are slightly better. It’s not an insurmountable or severe issue in that it doesn’t cause problems

Style: The story is written in first person, and makes full use of it by offering deep insight into the character's thoughts, the reasons behind her actions, and why she likes or hates something. The prose is nice and flows well when reading. It is fast paced when it needs to be, and slow when the situation demands it.Story: The story doesn't lose its originality despite having relied on some tropes. It tackles each of the tag, trope, and genre-specific situation with an original take, which I think is a plus point. It is well thought out, with a sufficient number of plots moving at the same time. The only thing that I didn't like was the introduction of romance in the story, but that's just probably because of my taste. (I mean, love at first sight is a thing)Grammar: There were some problems here and there, but they were immediately fixed with the edits. not much now. 4.8/5Character: Great characters. I think that's the most strong point of this book. All the characters are realistic and alive like. Each of the side characters has a unique personality. Especially the kobold. She's the best character in the story. Sadly, she doesn't appear more often until I read. The villain is loathsome, the main character has sibling trauma (which, as an only child, I can't relate to, but I'm sure others can). Each side character has something going on in their lives besides circling around the MC all the time.Overall: If you're looking for a nice high fantasy with women as characters, this is the book for you. (It's not a litrpg.) Also, really nice spell incantations.

Overall: A fun romp through an exiled noble's life at a dungeon school. This story offers up some interesting lore, spinning tropes in unique ways. There's a little more slice of life than I prefer, but that's fully forgivable. A new problem introduces itself frequently enough to keep some questions churning, which kept me going to the next page. As of the time of this reading, I haven't found a lot of answers yet, as Alta's different facets of life have at least one problem each. I expect it will take time to get everything resolved. There is a strong narrator's voice throughout, and from it Alta's personality shines with its charming contradiction of grumpy but kind.Style: Straightforward. Just enough description to start the imaginative process going. I like the paragraph structures.Story: Complex. Almost every chapter has introduced a new issue that, even as it's resolved, reveals a bigger issue. The character interactions suggest that, should anyone other than Alta have some problems to solve, it will get even bigger.Grammar: What a reader expects from a webnovel. Slightly unpolished, but definitely gets the point across without becoming too clunky.Character: Alta Marchesi is an elf, and though I usually roll my eyes at elf girl characters, Alta's not your typical airy fairy. She doesn't fit into the mold, so to speak, so she tackles the problems she faces with her fists, blades, and crabby gumption. Her roomates all have their own personalities and appearances that make them stand out. Even the more important side characters have little quirks that make them easy to recognize without having to think back to the last time they appeared.

Eeeeeeee! I love this! I'm kind of an odd duck and this still ticks a lot of boxes for me so far . Fantasy,  dungeon crawling, comedy and slice of life stuff. I'm hoping for some romance down the road. Then pretty much all my boxes will be ticked. Keep going writer you're doing well.

This story seems, at first glance, to be a story about a woman attending an academy for dungeon delvers, and it does start out that way, but it blooms into something bigger. If you like evolving characters and relationships, a detailed fantasy world, dungeoneering and combat, and slice-of-life academy stories, give this a try.Style: Told in the first person from the perspective of a young (ex) noble woman, we view the world through the eyes and mind of Alta. Her opinions and views are easy to follow and empathize with.Story: Th story starts off slowly, setting up the world around Alta with flavor and color. Once we have our feet firmly set, the story takes flight and we're off! It's early times yet, and plotlines are still unfolding, but the story holds much promise.Grammar: The grammar and syntax are good. Only a few errors in punctuation and spelling, and those are barely noticeable.Characters: In my opinion, this is where this story shines brightest. Alta and her friends and acquaintances are filled out well, and they continue to develop as time passes. Even ancillary characters feel real. Seeing all these people interact with each other is a treat. In summation, give this story a read if you're a fan of interesting people doing fun, fantastic things.
