This has been an incredibly fun read and is packed with magic, surprises, and impressive worldbuilding. Adam, our main character, suffers a tragic loss in the early chapters, which sets the tone for a proper coming of age story. Despite his young age, he is powerful and smart, but, his competency makes him a bit of an outcast among his peers in the early parts of the story. That all changes though when he is sent to a new school with other kids on his level.
This world is huge and the lore runs deep. I really liked the incorporation of Egyptian gods and lore taken from the real world. It’s adapted very well. It starts off strong and only grows from there. One of the earlier chapters will leave you with your mouth hanging open!
The writing is very good and descriptive when it needs to be but doesn’t waste time with overwritten paragraphs or exposition dumps. The dialogue is really good too, which can be hard to pull of when writing about a kid. There are some changes in verb tense but overall, it’s well edited.
The story moves fast but doesn’t feel rushed. It’s full of imagination and some really awesome and unique magic. It’s both light and dark, and the character of Adam will quickly grow on you.
Give this story a chance! This is a fully realized world with a lot of potential to become something great!

The story follows a brilliant magic user named Adam as he navigates a vast world filled with magic, mystery, and danger. The world that Firegecko sets up is huge and expansive, offering a rich backdrop full of intrigue and potential for discovery.
While much of the story's progression and world-building is conveyed through exposition, it still manages to build a compelling and immersive narrative that draws the reader in. The author successfully weaves in complex elements, creating a sense of grandeur and depth that makes the world feel both unique and familiar at the same time.
What sets this story apart is that everything is seen through Adam’s eyes, thanks to the strictly first-person narration. This remains consistent throughout each chapter, ensuring the reader always understands the events as Adam perceives them. The clarity offered by this perspective makes it easy to follow, even when more abstract ideas like transcending and enlightenment are introduced into the plot. These ideas, which might otherwise be difficult to grasp, are explained in a way that feels natural and understandable, blending seamlessly with the magic system at play.
While the world does feel original, there are times when the world-building may feel a little abrupt for some readers. Some of the exposition-heavy sections could be handled with more subtlety, perhaps trickling less important details throughout the chapters instead of presenting them all at once. This would create a more balanced narrative that allows the story to breathe.
In addition to Adam, the characters around him are intriguing in their own right. They feel well-developed, and it's clear that they have their own motivations and stories to tell. Interestingly, the concept of plot armor doesn’t seem to exist in this narrative. Even well-liked characters are not guaranteed to survive, which adds a sense of unpredictability and suspense to the story, making each chapter feel like anything could happen.

The narrative offers a compelling blend of dark fantasy and psychological depth, effectively immersing readers in the protagonist’s internal struggles. The writing style is evocative, with vivid imagery that captures the haunting atmosphere, particularly in scenes related to death. The concept (No spoilers) applied to the  protagonist is unique  that offers a fresh twist to the genre, allowing for intriguing possibilities in character and plot development.
The writing effectively establishes a haunting atmosphere, especially in certain scenes, that are vivid and memorable. This adds to the world building in subtle ways. I would like to see more of this, to fully immerse into the story.
Characterization is a highlight, especially in the relationship between the protagonist and Rache. Their bond adds layers to the story. Characters are well-developed and relatable, particularly the protagonist’s growth and emotional struggles, but some secondary characters could use more depth.
The plot is engaging and I am left wanting to read more (only at chapter15), There are moments where pacing could be improved, particularly during transitions between intense scenes and quieter moments. Some more careful editing could enhance clarity.
    I would recommend a read,
Overall, the story effectively balances action, character exploration, and thematic depth, creating a narrative that is both thrilling and thought-provoking. It invites readers to reflect on themes of loss, identity, and the consequences of power, making it a noteworthy addition to the genre.

If you are interested in a world full of dark magic, interesting characters, and lots of mystery, this is the story for you.
Characters: I genuinely liked the characters in the novel. They all felt different and compelling. The MC, Adam, starts out at the age of 8 as a very talented magician. While I like the personality of the MC, I had mixed feelings about him being so powerful right at the beginning of the story.
Grammar: Grammar was reasonably smooth. There was nothing that would make me dislike the novel or detract the story.
Story: The story itself is very interesting. It's full of mystery and dark magic, in an expansive world that seems to be well crafted so far. The pacing is excellent. The action starts almost immediately and pretty much keeps pace as the story goes on. It's clear the author took time to make sure readers are kept entertained with every chapter.
Style: while this author has a good story with solid characters, I do think theirs style of writing has room to improve. Some of the writing has a less polished feel which I think the author can easily address.
Overall, I enjoyed the novel and I think it has excellent potential. As I said before,  if you are looking for a dark fantasy novel with lots of mystery, action and magic, you should look into this novel!

    Style:
The story is written in first person and consistently stays there. Paragraphs are on the short side, but not to a point where it is a detriment. The author writes with a clear voice, which makes the story easy to understand. The story relies heavily on narration to tell plot elements that could have been incorporated by dialogue. The author does a good job in showing what the characters feel at any given moment but doesn't provide much environment details. Overall, I'd give them a 4/5.
    Grammar:
The grammar is clean overall. There aren't any noticeable mistakes from what I've seen. Proper use of punctuation, such as commas. Honestly, not much more can be said here. I'll give them a 5/5.
    Story:
The world building is strong if a bit cookie cutter. The author took their time to craft what appears to be a thorough setting. I find Adam's story to be an interesting one, especially since the conflict begins because of his own actions. I like the uniqueness of the magic system in this story with a variety of applications in it's use. The amount of thought put into the races and kingdoms seems to promise a wide arching storyline in the future. My two major criticisms is the first chapter being too dedicated to exposition, which could be more spread out and how fast the story seems to be going. It could be benefited to take some more time per scene to 'let the world play out' for the reader. Still, the story is good so far and I'll give this a 4/5.
    Character:
Characterization is where I have the most problems with this story. This is primarily due to how Adam is written. All the other characters I find to be written well enough even if not spectacularly. Adam on the other hand, is written too mature for his age. He starts off as a younger child and it feels like he thinks and acts like a teenager/adult too often. If this was an isekai, it would make sense but that's not the case. I know this won't bother everyone, but it affects my reading of the story. I also wish the
