Description
Seth wants to become a hero.
He has the power for it, though maybe a bit too much for some. He has the know how. He can't help sprint out the door to watch when the sirens go off after all. He's got the skill, or at least he'd better anyway. Can't quite get the little voices in his head to give him a break after all. But...
But he can't show those powers, not in full. Because those voices, the reason he even has powers in the first place, still trust him too much to undo all that they both hoped to achieve. To atone for.
For destroying lives innumerable in the unwitting spread of what that power did to all but him. In the devastation and hungry of those changed. In the fires that ensued. The war that was waged to contain what his town became. In spilling the blood of too many of this world's greatest not to leave scars. Not to leave Seth... holding the bag.
But he's ready carry it now. He's prepared. He's built a suit to stave off their scrutiny. And he's resolved... no... He'spromisedto be a hero no matter what it took. No matter how much it hurt. They will support him, and he will heal those scars. So that they both can live to atone for what they have done.
Though his powers may not see it that way.

- AlexanderScottRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story, I Am Rage, is about a league of supers, which is always a cool place to start with a story. I felt similarities between this and other stories like Brandon Sanderson’s Steelheart or Watchmen, as well.
However, our main character here, Seth, is somehow responsible for a desolation that created an army of demon like enemies that have killed thousands. This is a strong set up for an epic story, though he had a lot to overcome.
The writing here is solid and the story fascinating. The opening scenes in the prologue (though it is a little bit of a dense read) shows some of the enemies on the front lines of battle - as well as some of the heroes.
Seth spends a lot of time creating and configuring devices, as well remembering or dreaming (it’s sometimes hard to tell which), and talking or listening to the voices in his head (this can also be confusing). The creation scenes make for some cool technical descriptions of unique armor and weapons etc.
I will say that the story would benefit from simpler language and cleaner worldbuilding to ground the reader throughout. Sometimes it gets confusing and it’s hard to tell what’s really happening, what’s real and what’s imagined.
Otherwise a cool story so far. Thanks again for the hard work! - Felix HelixihareRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0STYLE: This story is fantastic. The author is adept at conveying emotion and action. Fight scenes feel snappy and fast-paced. They have good rhythm. The very emotional scenes are easy to get into. The source and the causes of the internal states and emotions of the characters are apparent, and therefore easy to understand why they feel a certain way, making it easy for me to align my feelings and mental images with the story.
GRAMMAR:The grammar is fine. Errors are minor and hard to detect. However, the grammar noticeably suffers in action and emotional scenes. With the way the author writes the scenes, it is easy to be carried by the scene and read fast, making one skip over or overlook the errors, but if one slows down to digest the story more thoroughly, the errors become visible. Nevertheless, the errors are minor and benign, mostly misspellings and awkward sentence structures. Nothing too egregious and absurd.
STORY: The story is excellent. It's uncommon, but not totally unique. I can't recall if I've read anything something like it, but the premise and setting is familiar to me. I like it. It is well-done. It tells the story about the dreams of heroism of a boy who survived what is essentially an apocalypse. I don't believe it to be a world-wide apocalypse, but considering that it is the reason of a large part of the deterioration of the physical state of the world, it is effectively an apocalypse.
The title of the story claims that this will be tragedy. I don't know what constitutes as 'tragedy' as the title claims. However, the world at large have been against the MC from the very beginning, and all sorts of elements are at odds with him, pushing him down. It's not like that demon reincarnation story I read that has a similar flow to this; the MC in that story is effectively tortured to the point of insanity. The MC suffers, breaks, but he is not hopeless. The author does a good job of putting enough hope to make me doubt that the end will be tragedy, but I - ShunjiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Deserves the tragedy tag.
Pure epicness comined with (in my case) really hateable antagonists. I am looking forward to every chapter.
Good characters - even if I don't like a lot of them.
Great worldbuilding - not too much, not too little.
Story - love it - but you gotta decide that yourself ;) - Emmanuel5280Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is the first review I've written, expect dubious criticism. But do hear. Warning: profanity
World building is thought of well from the current perspective. It is absurd yes, which should be expected for the genre, but its reasonable, no cartoon super evil villain, hopefully. The tone for the setting is good, there definitely is evil but it aint the sussy evil kind cause fuck Watchmen wannabes. Things are not their just for the style but it still is stylish.
Story: 4/5
The story being told is entertaining, and resonates with the mentally disturbed, this is a tradegy afterall. Well supposed to be, there's not much tradegy yet besides the backstory, not much at the present tense. It could use something more other than edgy backstories (I need more of chapter 23).
Style: 4/5
If your into slowburn, sure I guess?Tho pacing could sometimes go fast, with the training montages, which could be a bit jarring at times. Anyways here the issues; confusing scenes, and profanity. Some chapters have a bit of purple prose or patches of it. I think you, the author should definitely wind down on the flowery poetry part. Cause it will not resonate well with the reader if they get confused or annoyed with thine epicly written scriptures inked by the digital anthropods.
For the profanity part its jarring sometimes, sometimes, this is not really an issue since it does give the narration an interesting voice. It's just that a large amount of profanity are fucks.
Grammar 4/5
Not perfect, but definitely good. Occasional misspellings or incorrect syllables. Which means the readers get whiplash once they read one confusingly structured sentence, this usually appears near or in the purple prosy parts or chapters. Please, do review or get yourself a beta reader mr. Author.
Story 4.5/5
It's good I suppose. But it could get a bit old, since the chapters alternate between Seth's dreaming his past and him doing hero training. But that's not really the reason why this gets a 4.5 instead of 5 It w - chaogoesmuRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I mean my bad title is i am rage expect chapters of pissed off angsty teenager level melodrama but it just... got old to me. As good as it is I found myself skipping entire chapters needing a break from the constant one note experience as a fight took forever and just dragged on and on about how angry mc is how unfair it all is wah wah wah. Im not saying it's bad even, im sure teenage me would have loved it. I guess im too well adjusted to really vibe with being that pissed off for that long. Ymmv I recommend reading it as it's well done just not for me.
- xicsessRoyal Road★★ 1.5There's a ton of interest in this book. But, it's MC torture porn for absolutely no reason. It just doesn't end, and none of it even really makes sense. I'd even like to give large parts of it praise but you can't go a chapter in this book without the main character being both a martyr and completely unappreciated and cast out.
