- WuldenRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0So I went in with expectations that were completely subverted. While it made it initially complicated for me to read (also due to my lack of familiarity with pokemon). It all came together in the final 1/3rd of the book for me and that finale just made the whole book worth a read.
The investment into the fate of Terrance and his little sister Nikki was just gripping from the start to the finish and the emotional roller coaster painted through Terrance's harrowing journey ultimately ended with a satisfying payoff.
Well done on. Just well done.
The only real problem I have with the writing style for this book, is the fact that each chapter can bounce perspectives, sometimes multiple times within the chapter.
Alot happens, but the way the breaks are formatted made it difficult for me to follow what was specifically happening, be it "is this history to give context to what is happening?" to "Is this taking place aside the Terrance Nikki narrative?"
I was just left confused many times those breaks would happen. Once I caught myself up, though, the story just moves, and I found it riviting to see what happens next, and how the overwhelming odds panned out.
Again, just well done. This was a great read for me.
