Description

In order to fit kdp guidelines, I will soon begin removing this story from RR, ill start slow incase anyone is in the middle of reading

We’ve all heard the tales. Stories of heroes being summoned to slay powerful demons. Of ordinary people suddenly finding themselves the champions of their own legends.

But not all individuals are summoned to a great destiny, some are just the next item on the menu.

Warning this story will be very dark, it would make my previous works seem like a children’s bedtime story. As I am also working on other stories, this one won’t be updated quite as regularly

Isekai, litrpg, city building (far future) will all be included, I’ve had this idea rattling around for a while and have finally decided to go for it. This will be my first LITRPG story and I’m excited to finally try it out.

Published on Royalroad and scribblehub under same title and account name. If approved.

Update 19/07/2022 Book 1 removed as i need to abide by kdp guidelines, here is book 2 if anyone is already familiar with the story, book 2 is current ongoing right here

The first few chapters are quite grotesque, but it is something you slowly get used to, and sometimes there are unexpected but fitting turns. Especially, I apprecciate also seeing the MC slowly changing and adapting to his surroundings, as you can witness him slowly devolving into a madman. Also seeing his power grow, but at the same time still having the feeling that there is always an opportunity for him to get overpowered/tricked. Otherwise, this is definitely nothing for the faint of heart.

The MC comes to hell like world and loses it.
He becomes a denizen of this world. He  not just survives, he thrives albeit barely.
Don't expect common tropes like forming a party, having a super OP pet or even a God like entity helping the MC in some way or form.
MC makes mistakes and regrets them and also dwells on them but he keeps moving forward. He has a never give up attitude which is nice to see.
This story is a story that embraces gore, it begins as horror with gore and becomes horror, gore and a power fantasy.

Just a heads up, this story is not for those with weak stomachs. There's a whole lot of gore and plenty of other dark content, so if that kind of stuff bothers you, don't bother clicking.
However, if you're a fan of graphic horror, then Humans Are Delicious is something that you might want to look into. From what I've read so far, it's a LitRPG with a twist. Even though it happens early on, I won't say the twist. But it definitely sets Rye apart from other main characters.

This book is amazing I have been looking for a book for a while that goes the complete opposite of what normally happens when the MC gets put in a hostile environment.
And I think it encapsulates what would happen pretty well and how far a normal person would devolve just to survive. Amazing but not for weak of heart

Truly, this is a book for the whole family to enjoy. Watching the main character go from a scared, about to be killed person to a raving monstrous cannibal fills me with a warm glow. The writing style is a little off, but the story is still easily understandable and enjoyable. One thing I wish we got would be POVs from other characters once in a while. We don' really get a lot of insight into other people. Plus I hope we get some other characters developed.Story is pretty good, hope it doesn't just die.

It will make your stomache churn, it will seriously disturb you, and it can also make you laugh.
Style score: There's something strangely charming about watching the main character devolve into some sort of monstrosity through rpg mechanics, hearing a voice sound off every time they gain a skill that further mutates them into something beyond a normal human. This, of course, is one of my favorite elements of the story's style, as well as the use of onomatopoeia.
Character Score: Character wise, we can relate to Rye in a twisted way, going from utter disgust and horror at your own situation to almost reveling in it, from acceptance to celebration - character growth is definitely here, though I would still like to know a little more about Rye's previous life before he begins to progress into something else entirely.
Story Score: Story goes along with character score, the story is compelling and in my opinion addictive, though Ii would interest me to have a moment where Rye reflects on where he has climbed so far, like looking down at the ladder that he's climbing, for furhter character development and maybe a look into who he was before he began to become a bit of a monster.
Grammar score: Grammar wise, it is fairly polished, though theIfre will be an odd comma or typo - but even published books have those issues.
If you can stomach the gore, then it is surely worth it - you will find an intriguing, engaging story that will have you feeling all sorts of things.

This is truly a gem that hasnt lost itself in the sea of false villains and edgey heroes that plague this site.
The style and grammar are great, and doesnt lack in any way. The world is dark, gore abundant and as the title says humans delicious.
The story follows our mc through his sudden summoning to a fantasy world and how he his will to live changes him into something far worse than than ever before. The initial premise of a disastrous summoning is not new but everything that happens after is and its a great breath of fresh air. Theres enough action and intrigue to keep the readers engaged and wanting to know if the mc will survive.
The journey the mc takes physically and emotionally through the first volume is well done and sets the basis for a great evil character. With most works the mc while forced to do morally questionable things maintains a 'heart of gold' and excuses their deeds with reasons like "it wasnt their choice" and "they had to". While that is initially the case here our mc accepts and embraces his choices, not limiting himself to self-serving boundaries that he won't cross lest he become no better than his captors.
Very much excited with where volume two is heading, keep up the stellar work author.

As a preface to most of how I review things, I tend to focus on the opposite of how the series makes me feel. Is the series really good and I like it? I'll talk about the bad. Is the series really 'bad' (Bad tends to be more subjective/harmful), or at least not to my taste (Haha), then I'll talk about the good I see in it.
I really liked Humans are Delicious so I might say mean things about it, or at least as much as I can muster or find because I actually liked this one quite a bit.
The grammar I don't have any comments on, I got the paperback and I didn't see any mistakes. There might be some but none I noticed. I will say in the book it didn't have page numbers which was weird but other than that everything was fine.
Style wise, the author does a pretty good job. I liked the writing. I feel like it conveyed enough of what I needed from the character (Except a singular thing we'll talk about in story).
The Story doesn't do anything too new outside of the concept of the book
Being a cannibal LITRPG protagonist included with a cannibal class
but I found it pretty refreshing. You have a person who, by the virtue of wanting to survive, has to do some pretty dark and gross things with a class that supports that sort of thing.
I will say it seems that time isn't portrayed as neatly as it should be in the beginning. In the beginning the character is in a bad situation, is thirsty (Being scared as fuck/running a long time will do that to you), but then seems to get hungry. It seems to go 0-100 really fast, within a day or so, when in my brain it would realistically be days upon days before someone would do what the MC did. However, I can't reasonably say days upon days didn't go by because I simply can't tell how much time went by.
So if it was days, then it gets a thumbs up from me. If this was hour 5 of a survival situation and the MC did this...what the hell. (Still a good story regardless)
The main complaint I have is spoiler-ish so I'll just spoiler it.
    The MC gets m

Having been on the internet for some time I've read and seen more revolting stories and ideas described in a much more distasteful manner so the narrative didn't revolt me on a personal level.
    Why star deduction :
-Existence of skippable paragraphs, you can skip them as they don't contain anything story important, not a major offender you can find a few in a novel. Don't use a whole paragraph to describe a person's appearance, you're uploading once a week most of us won't remember subtle details such as eye, hair or skin colour, but unique marks will help to imprint important characters into our minds, try eyepatch, scales, tail, blindness, deafness/ being chees mage (There is no Epic Loot here, Only Puns. reference)
-Dialogue, most authors are afraid of letting their characters talk and letting emotions flow undisturbed by descriptions of body movements or surroundings. A common sight is present in all works on this site no need to feel discouraged author.

The story is well done and the style well written. For the premise I would expect more graphic horror but it just isn’t fully there. If you like the strange blend between fantasy progression, exploration and graphic horror this story is for you.
Well, this premise sure is different. It has a very dark vibe as you should be able to see from this title. It is filled with dark subjects and disturbing visuals. The story is interesting enough and the premise enjoyable. If you’re a fan of slow transformation and dehumanization this might be for you.
There is very little dialogue in this story. Most of it is internal monologue, especially early on. The style is well done, but somehow could be more disturbing. The visuals are well written, but from what they are describing it could be worse. It depends on what you expect. I would feel that a story about a cannibal trapped in a demonic prison could be worse. Going further into that kind of style might put some people off, but it’s something I would expect from this premise.
The English is very well done and the command of English is perfect. No real extra exclamation or question marks. English is also easy to read. Really well done.
Let’s talk about the main character. An ordinary guy thrust into a world of men eating demons are rooms filled with corpses. Forced to eat their bodies and drink their blood to survive. The fact that he can even push himself to do so is a miracle in and of himself. I suspect that this has something to do with the leveling system. The character seems largely unaware just how messed up he has become even by chapter 7.
Overall, I think this story has merits and is generally fun to read. My only issue is that I’m not sure this story should be as fun to read if that makes sense. If it’s truly a survival horror story then I would expect more disturbing imagery and worse character explanations. The story is very well done, but it sometimes feels like this weird mash between graphic horror and more light
