- Argonaut99Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story so far. Can’t wait to see where you take this crusade and most importantly… why!
I can feel an epic very slowly unfurling, and I am here for it.
Came here at a friend’s suggestion, never having tried RR, and I am sold with this book! Will be checking more out soon! - EmperorKaleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I just got through the first 32 chapters in the last day! I love the premise of this story, it really hooks you in, especially if you have ever wondered what you would do if you were suddenly given a large sum of money!
Style - I especially enjoyed the pace of the story, the back to back business meetings end up reading like an action book. I also like the POV changes that give some context and reactions to Tasha's actions.
Story - The system elements are really interesting and I haven't read another litrpg that has taken the same approach. I am enjoying the worldbuilding lore that is being discovered as Tasha explores her new world.
Grammar - Overall, the grammar is good. There are a few repeat errors that were possibly stylistic but I couldn't tell. I didn't find the little hiccups to be distracting from the story though.
Character - I really enjoy Tasha's character, but so far she seems to be the only real character. The rest of the cast feels less important/real so far. It would be nice to get some scenes that show interactions between the others so we can learn more about their personalities/interests.
Overall, I highly recommend checking out this story and am looking forward to new chapters coming out! - Ninmast NunyabizRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It takes about the first fifteen chapters to really get going, but opens up into a larger plot involving the supernatural further in. Taking so long to get its feet under it is a definite drawback, but once the story starts moving, it really moves.
A large part of this is due to the style of the author. MentalLogic clearly has a business or financial background that they value greatly, because they spend an inordinate amount of time keeping track of the shuffling around of all of the money the protagonist suddenly finds herself with. It gets better in later chapters, but for the first while, it's really heavy on the bookkeeping. Great for those who love Monopoly, less so for those who are here for the Spec Ops on Vampire action.
Grammar is what I've come to expect from the author after having read their other two books. It's a far cry from perfect, but mostly only things nitpickers would be concerned with. It could do with a proofread to address incomplete sentences or odd commas, but there's nothing that interferes with reading comprehension and the author seems open to constructive feedback in the reviews.
The characters are stronger here than in the other two books, literally and narratively. You get a lot of them thrown at you relatively fast, with most of them not mattering and generally being there to give different perspectives on big, spanning events, and you'll never hear from those particular characters ever again. The core characters get a decent amount of screen time, on the other hand, and receive a general basis of characterization, though they still exist largely to yes-man the protagonist and enable her to do what she's here to do.
And what is she here to do? Well, she's here to kick butt, take names and ... buy up all of your property like the Goodwill version of Blackrock. Seriously, the amount of time spent on this would border on the extreme if it wasn't such a major plot point. On the other hand, the protagonist has access to basicall - Quinn VoidheartRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A fun blend of business empire building and pre-apocalyptic preparation wrapped in an unusual LitRPG package.
Style:
The author handles the protagonist's initial depression and gradual emergence from trauma without making it feel rushed or unrealistic.
Story:
This narrative centers around investment and business empire-building. The system's billion-pound starting fund creates immediate stakes and possibilities, while the mysterious circumstances surrounding Tasha's family's "accident" adds a compelling B story. The approach to revealing the apocalyptic elements works well, allowing readers to become invested in Tasha's personal journey before introducing larger threats.
Grammar:
The grammar has been on point so far.
Character:
Tasha's combination of military experience, technical expertise, and personal trauma creates a complex character whose decisions feel grounded in her background. The story takes time to show her recovery from depression, making her eventual emergence into a more active role feel earned rather than forced. Her strategic approach to using the system reflects both her data science background and military training.
While some readers might find the initial focus on character recovery and business building slower than traditional LitRPG, those who stick with it will find a rewarding story that thoughtfully combines personal growth, system mechanics, and apocalyptic elements. The mystery surrounding Tasha's family adds an engaging subplot that promises to tie into the larger narrative. - DandariousRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Its a good read. Light, fun, and fresh with a little bit of serious(I mean it IS an apocolypse book)
The naming could use a little work, there are the occasional word choice or spelling mistakes, but the content is good enough to make even a GN(grammar nazi) like me smile, shrug and keep reading. I love it and would definitely give it a recomended read. - ReadingroyaltyRoyal Road★★★ 2.5This is the best of the three currently ongoing, and also the most neglected. The start was great, once again, too convenient but pacing was good and interest was high. The MC is once again a superwoman with extremely convenient connections and skills perfect for everything she wants to accomplish.
Then we get past the first big climax of the story, and it has flatlined, no life, no interest, just appears to be a chore with focus on character count. Where does the story go from here? Nobody, even the creator knows. I don't like it enough to see if this one like the other two will turn into anything worthwhile, which is disappointing, because this story was very unique.
