Description
A man from Earth, just an average Joe you passed by on the street.
He reincarnates into a fantasy world, but the guy has read and watched fantasy stories before... lots of them, and so he makes the stories his spirit guide.
This is his story in a western style cultivation-ish world. A world where dog eats dog. Where another, much larger dog, is always lurking around the corner to eat the survivor.
Warning: The protagonist has negative views about heroes and villains, good and evil. He isn't too smart, alien way of thinking, and questionable moral. Depending on your point of view, he's rather crazy. You have been warned.
Author note:Hello everyone, this is my first novel and English is not my native language please forgive the grammar. I wish to improve my craft so if you are willing to add criticisms or comments, it would be much appreciated. I hope you enjoy my story.
The genre is intended for young-adult
The cover isn't mine and I will take it down if theownerwished it.

- B.C. FaJohnRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This author is dedicated. Each chapter, he responds to each comment and updates the chapter notes when he has made a significant edit. He also listens to the reviews, which is fantastic. A lot of authors will shrug any negative feedback to the side and continue on their way. That doesn't have anything to do with the story, but it means he wants to perfect his craft. That's dedication in the simplest terms.
What I Liked:
- This author builds suspense and creates sequences of action and world-building very well. He is building this world, and characters, with passion.
- While many claimed the formalities the MC had when talking, whether it be externally or inwardly, seemed unnatural I thought it was fine. Not everybody is going to talk with slang, I know a lot of people who talk more formally than not.
Why I Marked Down
- Although I appreciated certain formalities (and I understand I was looking at an edited version), I can see where some of the writing styles grew a tad clunky. I think this was because it was a lot of dialogue, whether it be external or internal, which leads to telling as opposed to showing. While the story was still well written and left plenty to be imagined, I couldn't give those two categories 5 stars because I felt there could be more descriptive elements to help build the story further.
Kudos to the author, keep doing what you're doing and keep polishing your craft :) - Gn JkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story with great style and great mc
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD - John DoveyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0There are numerous stories on RR about various systems and protagonists. Most of them use a lot of "handwavium" to deal with the mechanics of "The System" and how classes and skills and attributes all work. This is one of the few that addresses the system in a structured, logical way to examine the human (for various values of human) and political underpinnings and costs of such a system.
As other reviewers have noted, the dialogue is somewhat stilted at times, and there are numerous minor errors. This doesn't detract though from the development of the characters and the progression of the story.
From the first it's clear that there is a purpose, that the main character has a direction to go in. Her history is important because it drives her future, but it becomes a pleasant mystery rather than being belabored and drawn out. The focus on the MC's progression is on her character not her skills. Developing skills is a result of hard work, or sometimes a surprise as it reveals a small part of her heritage. She is no "murder hobo", and in fact the way she struggles to deal with her conscience when she has to kill a sentient for the first time is a crucial part of her development.
The politics is intriguing, exploring the way that control of levels and classes by the elite might be used as a tool to suppress individual growth for political purposes, something seldom explored.
At this stage of the story, the MC is about to break out of the confines of that political repression and I for one am very keen to find out what developments come next.
So far a really great story to read, and worthwhile in every way.
Five Thumbs Up! - LordMarsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Ah I need to put words here. Well I like the system used. It is well done. I think the world matches with the system pretty well with natural quirks as a result of it. The main character is a moves from the intial proactive to more reactive but it works well as it feels like she still has a spine. And the author pretty nice person so that is a plus.
- RottenTangerineRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story has definitely had an interesting start. I've enjoyed the character progression and the slower stat growth definitely makes things interesting. Overall, Luna feels like a realistic character. It's refreshing to see common tropes used or used slightly different. Combat doesn't have suspense just to be suspenseful and while everything always turns out fine for the MC, that seems more due to planning than luck. I'm curious to see where this story leads.
- ShadowKnight6992Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This novel is an example of a proper evil opportunist protagonist done right and it was amazing!
the Mc is perfect especially with his monologues mid-fights.
thr side characters you learn not to care, but care for them if that makes sense? Like you know they're evil or nice/friendly but still damn it's always the Hero act then the reality of friendship isn't going to save you, followed up by them getting mauled by goblins. (G*BLIN SL*YER vibes of brutality)
The world building could've been a little better especially with the Mc being in a library for abit of the chapters but whatever it's a start in a small town.
overall recommended for evil/opportunistic protagonist and not falling into cliches or knowing he's fallen into one 10/10 - lovergirl602Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5This book really came at the right time I was looking for something more realistic it's almost slice of life but still enjoyable in its progression. The world building is pretty good and I like where the chapters are going I'm a sucker for village growth stories. Complaints it's a little slow going and the mc is naive but it fits well with her background so it's mostly forgivable!
- Havoc1021Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Okay so right up front, I enjoyed this story and recommend giving it a try for anyone who enjoys reincarnation or progression fantasy.
The world and story are interesting and so far unique enough that I wanted to read more. Magic is simple enough to follow but has enough room for depth that I suspect the author will be expanding on it as he goes.
Viers is a pretty dang solid MC, with my only gripe being he feels like he went a bit too quickly into "I am going to get super powerful" considering he finds himself in a new world. Considering he is depicted as a bit of a nerd that isn't crazy unbelievable, I myself would probably be similarly driven if I found myself in another world, but still.
The grammar still feels a bit clunky at times but it seems the author has made strides with that, judging by his notes and prior reviews. I can't judge too heavily, because I never saw the original chapters but it was not a major problem for me.
The only other thing that sometimes felt a bit difficult to swallow was how tough the MC sometimes felt. One that stood out for me is he seems to weather pain and violence a bit too quickly after entering the world. I think that would mainly be a personal issue and I doubt most would take issue with it.
All in all, I enjoyed it. Good job author, keep up the good work - Jupiter MaximusRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I usually avoid reading stories that are tagged as Anti-hero, and the few I have read left a bad taste in my mouth. But this story, contrary to my expectations, was indeed very interesting. The usual darker theme, that I have seen in the previous stories, have not crossed the line where it makes one think if the MC is the bad guy. The MC does take some very "heart-less" decisions, but still, his actions are within a boundary, so to speak. The MC has a very interesting personality. Since he is a lone wolf, his inner monologues, exceeds external interactions. He is power-hungry as any self-respecting transmigrated MC and is a bit too self-centered. The author has a way of criticizing the usual stuffs we see in any fantasy novels, mangas, animes, etc. (like a tournament where the MC shows off his amazing abilities and become world-famous) through the MC, which I felt very fascinating. The author breaks many conventions and conceptions that a regular fantasy novel follows, which makes the story more thrilling and unpredictable. The grammar, in the first twenty or so chapters, is very poor, even after being stated as edited, but afterwords it improves a lot.
- MhmmRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Wow, this was a fun read. Our MC is clearly an internet denizen. Anime, games, and movie references is artfully littered throughout the narrative. MC knows the cliches, runs with the cliches. It's great, it's fun, definitely made me laugh.
Reviewed at 24 chapters.
Story:
A nice mix of magic isekai and wuxia. Standard Path to Power stuff - MC spends all his time trying to get stronger. The self- experimentation aspect is interesting.
Nothing particularly surprising in the narrative progression, but the execution is solid.
Style:
Pace is upbeat and engaging. There's always something new happening....but short arcs, for now. Avenues of interest that could be investigated in the future - dropped as subtle hints - will give readers something to look forward to. For example, a particular place to visit, a particular skill to learn, a particular person to meet, or a particular mystery to investigate. Adventuring or exploring the world are vague goals.
There's a lot of internal monologue, but it's generally fun. Occasionally it gets a bit superfluous; some trimming would help.
Grammar:
Definitely the weakest link of the story. Actually not that bad though; the foundation is good. Just 2 persistent problems:
1. Tenses. rose vs rise vs rises. could be vs could have been vs can be, etc.
2. Sentence structure. There are only few cases where three statements put together, with commas in between, actually make a proper sentence. This does not work:
Spoiler: Spoiler
It was two days after he vomited on Mirella, when he was running, three people blocked his path, Viers recognized them as his classmates.

It was two days after he vomited on Mirella, when he was running: three people blocked his path - Viers recognized them as his classmates.
Some possible solutions:
Short term - chuck everything into a free editing software like Grammarly.
Long term - read lots of stories with good grammar and absorb via osmosis.
I wouldn't recommend learning grammar systematically - unless it's
