All three volumes completed! Thank you, everyone :)
Important Notes
Is it a harem? Yes!
Is there sex? No. This is a political fantasy. The harem exists for politics, not for fun.
Action, adventure, and laughs are the focus.
Not progression, litrpg, isekai, or grimdark.

- AkumetsuTimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Alright, the long and short of this work. This series, despite the name, is a comedic political drama. The MC has to replace his sister to join the harem of super strong Mage Emperor dude who has the potential to rule over the continent. Hijinks generally ensure as the MC deals with various problems both political in nature and actual threat-to-self in nature, all while the series keeps a fairly light tone. On top of this, while it is a comedy, there are hints of some larger overarching plot/worldbuilding details that indicate that not everything is as it seems, and there may be some serious issues to resolve later down the line.
Pros:
Solid comedy. It's nice and lighthearted, keeps the series from getting as dry as political dramas tend to
It is a political drama, so there's still plenty of dramatic elements, tensions to unravel, and relationships to navigate
Solid worldbuilding. As mentioned previously, there's a lot of background elements that seem to be leading to a larger plot later. On top of this, the MC is from a very different culture, since he was sent down to the capital from the remote north, so there's a lot of exploring cultural differences in both directions. This leads to some fun exchanges and thoughtful scenes
Plenty of action. You might expect this series to be devoid of combat with the amount i've talked about comedy and drama, but the main character is also incapable of not getting into fights, and when he does so, we get to watch him fight his way out of them.
Cons
Slow character introductions. It's established early that there are a sizable number of characters from different races in the harem, but we've really only seen a few of them up to this point. These slower introductions give us more time to flesh out the differences in culture and learn more about each character so they don't have to be portrayed as a trope, but it does mean that if you come in and really wanna see the culture of X race or learn about Y's motivatitons, odds - BestcoasterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A wonderful and well developed story, easily deserving at least a sampling from any reader! A diverse cast of characters fits neatly into a well planned plot. Minor characters get just enpugh development to be interesting without taking over the story.
Not my usual fare but I dont regret the read in the least. Its a great shame this story hadnt gotten more attention. - Lilian Dipasupil KunimasaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So refreshing and sooo cute! I got hooked even before I was able to rate and comment. My apologies to the author. I got so carried away that I couldn't do anything but click on Next Next Next button until the last chapter, page and line. Thank you so much.
- NeetarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Excellent, enjoyable writing style. Nice light comedic touch throughout story. Writer creates images with words. Refreshing story line. Looking forward to each and every post of story. What will happen next? Which characters will be involved. Enjoying pace and length of chapters, as well as pace of new chapter releases.
- astranellaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Does it make sense to review a two years old story?
Well, my answer is yes!
The story is worth the read, it is not what most people expect from a harem story, quite the contrary!
It is not perfect, but it is a good story and I was surprised to see that it did not get the traction that it should have gotten within the community.
But, as they say, there is always something good even in the bad happenings, it is now a completed story that one can binge read to its end and have a lot of fun doing it, even if the story has a dark plot at its core. - DeidrreRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love it! it starts as a riddicculous silly little story but slowly stops being a silly little story and starts to be interesting little story. Even if you are here only for the comedy, by the time it stops being just a comedy you are too invested to quit. And realy it would be a shame if you did.
- EranatosRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall: This is a fun and comedic novel that has an enjoyable plot.
Style: Very fun to read. This novel had a light and enjoyable tone throughout.
Story: Excellent plotline that came together with an epic conclusion.
Grammar: 10/10, no errors
Characters: Everyone has a personality, and none are caricatures. I'm amazed at how well the characters are developed.

And I mean that in a positive way.
The best justification I can give for my 5-star-rating is that this story is simply FUN. The characters, their interactions, the plot, everything has an unpredictable quality, which makes it really interesting to read. I hope that we get some updates on the Queen's search for Mouse, but other than that I'm satisfied with everything. I can't wait to come back in a few weeks when this has more chapters, so I can binge it once again. - Isa BayfieldRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I loved it. The setting is a bit unusual, but when you have overcome the misleading title, you are drawn into the well-told story fast. Our main character is very likeable, his comments on things happening entertaining. The friends he acquires are all very interesting and keep you wanting the best for them.
The plot has many facettes, foes apprear where you would not have expected them. We have it all - court intrigues, humor, action, romance, light against dark, powerful magic and a troupe of princesses you have never seen before.
I found this story well-written, lots of fun to read and I loved the ending. - KoboldPatrolRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5(story complete)
The prince of the moon elves cross-dresses as a woman and joins the new Mage-Emperor's harem under his sister's name, because that sister ran away after being summoned to it. "Mouse" now has to hide his identity and male body from the (human) Emperor, the human and non-human princesses, and everybody else. At the same time, Mouse discovers that evil powers stalk the kingdom and somebody in the palace seems to be in on it.
For those who, like me, don't like harem stories, I can ease your worries: There is technically a harem but it is NOT a wish-fulfillment one belonging to a badly written MC; it belongs to the very shy Mage-Emperor and is just there for political reasons, there's no sex and little flirting.
The story is presented as a comedy and while there are funny scenes in it, a significant part of the story is end-of-the-world serious and thus quite heavy with drama. This contrast is not always well done, but all in all it is still a good story. In addition to the funny situations that come from Mouse having to disguise his real identity while at the same time risking discovery doing non-ladylike things, there is quite a bit of action.
The story is written in third-person style from Mouse's point of view. Descriptions are okay. The world building is fine, it's varied but not very detailed. Grammar is rather good with some smaller errors.
The characters are written in a very funny way. They usually have exaggerated personalities (it's a comedy after all) but they are all different from each other and pursue different goals like realistic people. Not all of the side characters have very much depth to them, but the important characters are presented very well.
