- luda305Royal Road★★★★ 3.5The story is very funny. The protagonist is basically an immortally old mage who is an asshole but fundamentally good. He takes an apprentice and a job at a magic school and shenanigans ensue. I do recommend it, subject to the major caveat about its technical flaws.
The grammar is really bad, mostly using the wrong word (near homophone swaps) or just a misspelling. The pace is fairly breathless. And the style can be really stilted at times, with an overemphasis on exposition (show don't tell). Also, as a character, the protagonist (while funny) doesn't really fit the rest of the worldbuilding; he seems like a modern Redditor when he obviously lives in a medieval standard western fantasy world.
