Style- the story focuses on packing in the action and progresses fast. The writing is gratuitous and fun.
Story- so far, feels like a great dungeon crawler with a likeable MC. There is plenty of action and the system and leveling are refreshingly simple. Quick character progression with entertaining enemies and battles.
Character- the MC is fun and embraces his newly found role in the alternate world he was dumped into. He is eager to become more powerful and it adds to the excitement.
Grammar- there are a few grammar issues...mainly a couple of typos and there were only a couple of sentences that felt slightly awkward or confusing. Overall-nothing another proofread would identify.
Overall-this story is young, but it already has me wanting to continue the ride. I particularly like the system assistant AI. She is more than just a placeholder character thatvis only there to unravel how the system functions. She is another character. I already feel like there is more to her than meets the eye. I predict her role is larger than expected. If you like lots of action and quick progression, give this story a read. I don't think you will regret it. - KaapstadMKRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Overall, it's a very neat concept. The setting, character, plot (so far), and system/AI/deity setup integrate well and are fairly consistent.
That being said, there are a couple things that give me pause and make it difficult to immerse.
For starters, there are multiple races present and unique names given to the races, as well as terminology for humanoids as a whole. However, the manner of introduction to each of the new races is rather minimal, as though the author assumes the reader knows what is in their head. This makes it difficult to keep track of the different races as they come, especially since race is infrequently used as a descriptive factor to orient the reader to the various background cast.
Second, style is a big factor. There are no grammar errors, but the overall flow is rather abrupt, frequently jumping from scene to scene with minimal transition, and the diction is relatively informal, which is not a problem in and of itself, but compared to the language used in many similar novels in the same genre, finds itself lacking. These factors give an impression of a relatively young or new author - again, not necessarily a bad thing - which can break immersion in a reader more used to the polished prose of bigger-name RR fics or published novels
Personally, I'm going to continue reading, because this looks like a diamond in the rough and can only get better as time continues
