I discovered this author on a bud's recommendation, and I have no regrets.
I was in search of a good sci-fi mystery for a long freaking time and I think I found it, which is a real fresh wind in a land of not really mastered sci-fi environments.
Author really captured the essence of the genre: details here and there of futuristic details without throwing it at the reader's face, in a subtle but critical way: you can almost taste the chrome with your lips.
-The style: The style is paced, mastered and puts and emphasis on building an aura, an oppressant and paranoid atmosphere permeatng the place where the story takes place.
-Story: The story brings in several elements of genre, of which the main ones are sci-fi and mystery. No lore dump, only subtle details, inviting the reader to join in and take part of the adventure. We slowly discover small elements of story, lore and how that secluded society evolves and works in the microcosm of the main character.
    -Grammar: it's good.
-The characters: they simply breath and vibrate with life. I rarely sing the praises of characters, but i did feel empathy for the main character, and at times thought that i'd rather not get any close to them even with a chainsaw. All the cast seems believable in how they interact, are described and react to situations.
    -
OVERALL: a pearl of quality in a sea of mediocr- I mean, a good read among less qualitative works. Read it, or the whispers will be about you.

I found this through some happenstance and I was pleasently surprised. A short story with an ending coming soon (as of the posting of this review, about another month left), so I hope my review helps catch some eyes so others can experience it as we go along. Maybe the author might do something else in the universe, it definitely feels like they have a lot more worldbuilding fleshed out than we have been dripfed so far. Especially with how the story feels lovingly crafted, I would be sad if the author only posts one fiction to share and that is it.
The story is closer to a drama than anything else, with there being no actual LitRPG elements or Progression stuff, so it is closer to a traditional sci-fi web serial than anything else, but so far we have a villain story. The title is literally what's happening here and I would like to point out the cover has some information crossed out, if you did not see it on the first roving glance (it took me about seven chapters myself before I noticed it). The writing style is clear and concise while also building beautiful imaginative tapestries of sadness and self-torment. There are little colloquialisms hidden every so often (the one I can clearly remember would be "necking") so those add a little trivia or interesting tidbit in how language is used. We are still early on in the story and while we have a cast of characters, there seems to be a revolving door for new characters to be introduced, happening in a natural way in terms of the story. I have to say, very hard for me to find mistakes. Its almost like a game if I can find even one.
