No characters yet - just the insinuation - so i'll call that a bit over average because I got a chill bro vibe from the4 recently deceased.
Overall - I like where it's going, and hope you pump some chapters out. It's hard for me to write 200 hundred words on the first chapter of a serial, especially when 200 words is likely to be longer then the first chapter of the serial.
But in my mind - already I see church people arguing very politely, navigating cloudy walkways with wings slapping each other in the face. Common city issues - like tables long enough to fit all the potluck dishes, and who gets to put their dish closest to Jesus.
There are choirs - of course there are choirs, but who picked the playlist? Is Sain't Peter really still playing the old Pyramid Rock classics? Are people watchful and nosy? Do they talk about which priest is trying to blow smoke up the cutest alter boys' asses -
Can you buy buttons? And do they serve shrimp? Does mana fall from the sky? And if so, is that a problem? Does somebody have to drive the holy city street sweeper on Christmas and miss out on the presents?
There's so much to explore in such a simple opening, and I look forward to you taking full advantage of it.
