Description

Heather was a normal girl living in an abnormal world. When the visitors came, they struggled to understand humans and their ways. It was through video games they began to learn, and then they came up with a plan. They created a virtual world of magic and dragons where people could translate and become parts of the game. Through this world, they watched and learned, growing in their understanding of us.

She knew little about it, only what came across the occasional tweet or blog post. She knew that people went into the world known as New Eden because they volunteered. She also knew that rarely other people were forcefully drawn in; these were referred to as the chosen.

Heather didn’t pay much attention to it all. For most of the world, things went on like they always had. She had classes to attend and boys to tease, and her cell phone was her world. That was until she woke in a forest clearing and realized she had been chosen.

Loved the idea and enjoyed the books. As much as Heather is forced on rails, you have so many plots to dodge embracing. I like it because it widens the trail and gives us a quest here and there.
There are times I think Heather is too clueless. She's supposed 22 but not really. I'm long from 22 but my memories don't include anyone being so simple - High School, yes. I am enjoying your take on combining Flower Singer with Necro. I also wonder what Recluse provides as traits and 'spells'.
I have enjoyed the second story POVs. I hope we get some Kevin info or paragraphs soon.
I'm concerned for the author's personal struggles. I hope they and their family find support.

So far, quite enjoyable piece of fiction. We shall see what the future holds, but it's quite promising at this moment.
The protagonist is something else, but it is a fresh take on the genre. It is not common to see a clueless hero that would prefer to be anywhere else.
There are still a few spalling/ grammar mistakes,  but not too many.

I really enjoy the ebb and flow of the story. It gives me a lot of pleasure and the surprises that arise are great. The prose is easy to read and the story line picks up steadily.
The story seems to pull you in and the plot comes together well. I find it to be one of the best I have read. I gave up on other stories because they got too repetitive and this has avoided that trap.

I am certainly pleased with this story, it has almost everything I like a story to have and I must say it is in my top five of the stories on this website.
There are a lot of good things to this story, but there are a few very annoying things to this story that make it more believable and immersing(sort of).
I enjoy the author's style, not overly ambitious and has a nice pacing to it. The story itself improved a lot, even when there wasn't anything spectacular going on with the plot and events.
The grammar is good, there aren't any unnecessarily complicated words to describe simple things and there is a good use of words that depict a situation perfectly. There is only one thing I dislike about the grammar and that is the obvious misuse of "They're", "Their" and "There", these mistakes could be easily removed if you look over the chapter once or twice but further than that I have no issues with the grammar.
The story itself is certainly refreshing, gone is the power hungry gamer who only wants to gain power and rule the world, there is no manwhore who only wants to gain a harem full of elfs or something and there certainly isn't a person who can only think about killing some demon lord. But then there is the point why I can't give the story score and character score a five star rating. The main character is someone who doesn't know anything about games, even less than your average eighty year old grandmother would.
She is obviously ignorant of her surroundings and has to be told multiple times about something before she actually realises what is being said, which obviously isn't happening as much later on in the story and is certainly not socially aware of her surroundings and her actions. Sometimes, a lot in the beginning, she acts like my spoiled cousin would, which is certainly not a good thing.
But besides that, her personality and how she acts with the people around her fit the story and make it more "realistic" due to some form of relatability.
    Overall, I give

Ever tried to get one of your not Gaming/Anime/... friends into it?
Well, the Visitors didn´t even ask, these jerks.
Enter Heather, the pretty much most girly Girl you can get, who got transported into a Fantasy game world, while knowing nothing about fantasy.
Follow her as she stumbles, and SCREAMS, across the land, as she tries to get a grip on what´s going on and hopefully get somehow home.
Not to forget, her friendly neighborhood Ghoul! XD

    Positive.
    Decent story,
    Slow pacing, but acceptable.
Fun to see a different character type.
The system is interesting, from what little we see.
I especially enjoyed the last few chapters. Heather got serious, no sign of repeat dialog, actual tidbits about the system.
I would recommend this story to anyone that liked wandering in, has patience for a slow pace, and is interested in a novel MC.
    Negative.
Is it that hard to give ability descriptions, or a list, or just have the decency to not have the same conversation heather gets abilities, finally remembers that avoiding being brutally murdered depends on reading her damn abilities, then Frank has the same comment, she has the same response. Every. Darn. Time. Just, a character trait is one thing. To be fair development has occurred in newer chapters. But just
Holy frick, these characters might be NPCs with the annoying repeat dialogue.
Heather is hungry,   lets spend two pages make the same three jokes about it.
Heather does anything visible,   Frank's homeowner's association is here to bitch and moan about the glorious vision of the depressing rundown cemetery that he's apparently been fantasizing about while doing nothing but hide for Years.
New mechanic? Oh, assumed you read the fricking skill descriptions, Heather. Didn't knows that it requires some great Gamer insight to read a fricking screen.
I assume heathers lack of interest in lit-RPG is supposed to be reflected in the lack of focus of game elements, but holy shit this might be better described as fantasy with glitches because all RPG elements are glossed over and buried like the unimportant details heather sees them as.
And apparently heather had a trap building montage at some point, would have loved to watch that.
This story was aggravating, it had to improve right before I got to current so I couldn't freely complain either.
Thanks for the story, Heather is a memorable character.

First of all: The writing is great, the concept of the story is easy to like, and totally logical. And then there is Heather...
Heather is supposedly 22, which is in every country I know of, is considered an adult. Her age would implicate a minimal level of social skills, and self-reliance that could be ignored for some time due to the stress/trauma caused by being choosen. But not for this long.
It can not validate her behaviour towards her new friends. Which is "you are not doing it right", "I know better who to trust", "do this for me", "you should have told me what to do".
And there is the case of ignoring that she is in a world governed by different rules. Even after she was attacked on 2 (3) different occasion, she keeps toying around with her class selecton, showcasing the mental capabilities an attention span of an 8 year old.
Reading about MCs like her make me wonder if people could really be this airheaded in real life.

Context: I left a pretty scathing comment earlier, but started to feel bad that it wasn't more measured.
    - Overall, I feel like the world, the characters and the stakes, it's all serviceable! Unfortunately, there's a number of "cockroach in icecream"-type accidents which reduce my enjoyment.
Grammar - It's not a silver bullet but things like grammarly need to be used on the story. There's a lot spelling and grammar errors. It doesn't really harm the comprehensibility or the overall enjoyment of the story/plot.
    - Style - The writing style and format is overall pretty standard, and 'meh'. It's not bad, just, milquetoast.
This is where I actually get to the meat of my complaint however.
    Story and Characters
The overarching plot that's evolving as it progresses, it's pretty good, and it hooked me enough to keep reading just to see where we were taking it.
Additionally, the Characters are well-defined... Perhaps too well-defined.
First, the characters have not just a voice. At the start of the story I thought it was going to get into Chrysalis-land where they'd always talk about "the itch!" every time they level up. Luckily that ding-trope was kind of dropped and forgot somewhere around the 3rd arc(?).
It often feels like character progression is blocked until the plot forces it to happen. The perceived formula is something like
    1. (start of arc)
    2. introduce new characters, and several hooks
    3. Give heather and company several neon signs pointing "HEY! There's stuff here!"
    4. Promptly have the characters forget what the neon signs are saying
    5. Heather & promptly argue about whether they can trust neon signs. Occasionally even, character might switch positions, going from "Be an adult about this, of all the players who've hurt you, these neon signs seem to have only done things to power you up, you know" to "I dunno, these neon signs seem fishy" in the exact way they argued against.
    6. Heather promptly ignoring all of their advice, further endangering herself and her te

    Opinionated Review.
Heather The Necoromancer is an interesting read and is strong in areas, but weak in others.
    1. The style of writing was well done in many areas describing thoughts, scenes, and a nice mix of conversation. This brought the feeling that something was always going on whether it was planning or scheming. Many stories I've read, unfortunatly, either read like a play with all conversation and little scene, thought, and detail, or it the complete opposite with little conversation and I feel like I'm reading a giant block of text. Thankfully this story didn't have that problem
    2. The story is very interesting. The whole idea of the "Chosen" and the aliens studying us by creating a fantasy world which we can play in so they can learn how to interact with us, due to the lack of communication methods. Excellent. Initially this is what drew me into this story full of curiosities and excitement.
    3. Grammer was also well done with only a few instances where I needed to re-read a sentence to understand what was trying to be conveyed. There were also only a few words that were misspelled, but typically didn't hinder the flow of the sentece or the message conveyed.
    Now for the dislikes.
    4. Characters... As I started reading and met some of the characters I enjoyed the story. Not every Lit RPG has to revolve around or even involve murder hobos spying beasts or other players based on persona. There are plenty of stories where it is more like watching a dramatic comedy with the day to day events taking place building the story and characters.
However, my excitement was gradually ground down to the point I was actually mad at reading this, but I continued in the hope of it getting better.
Now of all characters my favorite was actually Frank. Now I agree that playing a character doesn't mean you have to play the stereotype for said character. I agree with Heather on this to an extent. I absolutely loved Frank's passion for how he wanted to play. He built his race arou

The first four and a half books are actually really good and fun! Not necessarily that deep, and the characters can be painfully stupid sometimes, but its a good ol romp. non-gamer isekai'd into game world, doesnt know how anything works, fresh perspective benefit, the whole shebang. There are plenty of interesting plot hooks and directions to go in. Unfortunately, the Author seems to forget about half of them and drop them into oblivion.
Then the real problem comes in. The story takes a wild left turn into a slave harem story, trying to frame slavery and abuse as a good thing, all sorts of stuff. Listen, if that's your kind of story, go off. But for most of us who started reading this and enjoyed the first few books, and expected it to continue in a normal way, instead of turning into a fetishistic sexual fantasy of the author, this is extremely off-putting. It frankly made me uncomfortable to read when the change came about.
