- Elijah TalbotRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5For a story like this, I had a pretty fun time. This story follows the autobiography of our protagonist as they retell the events of their brief time in Heapswitch (not Port Hedland). Without spoiling anything, I will give my thoughts.
Style and grammar:
Honestly, I found no issues here that are really not worthy. If anything, I will say that the story is pretty solid on a technical level.
Characters:
Since this is written by the protagonist (no name) the characters are written one-dimensionally, but that is perfectly okay due to the style of the story. Since this is entirely through the perspective of the person recounting the horrific events that have happened to them, they are not going to focus on every little detail. So don’t expect deep or complex characters besides the main protagonist retelling the story. However, with that in mind, you will still enjoy the story with what it has to offer.
Story:
It is a pretty straightforward story from what I have read. There are minor details that I feel don’t entirely make sense (the helicopter). But other than that, it is pretty is pretty simple. While this fiction will say otherwise, it is a complete short story and a pretty solid popcorn horror story about a poor nob arriving on an island.
Overall:
A good read that is easy to pick up. I say give this story a shot if you have a chance to.
