The Man Who Wears Demons - (Working Title)
War.
War never changes. Actually, that's utter bullcrap. In reality, war changes constantly as each side tries to one-up the other with new weapons, tools, and tactics. War evolves as new and amazing ways to kill your enemies are found, developed, and employed don't the field of battle. War is a constant state of flux.
Until it isn't that is.
Grim. A man of few words, much grumbling, and the adopted son of one of the more notorious gods of the underworld, Samael. Betrayed by those he thought were his allies, he loses his friends and family to the blades and guns of his enemies. Vowing vengeance the likes no universe has seen before, Grim makes the decision to hunt down the Shards of Creation. Twelve jewels of power so immense that they can alter the very fabric of reality.
His plans for those jewels? Use them to utterly corrupt and shatter a reality-wide complex apparatus known as the System that is used to govern and control all living beings under its umbrella.
The problem?
He finally gets his hands on one, and it drops him into a universe completely and utterly disconnected from all others. A world that contains an Earth... with humans... with superpowers.
Follow Grim as he struggles to not only understand just how this new, strange, and unusual universe operates but also how these people have the powers they do without any access at all to the System. And while understanding these strange new powers... he begins to develop his own.
An isekai without an isekai. A man without a System. A prison that contains an entire reality.
Will he escape? Or will he realize this is the opportunity of a lifetime?

- AnehaliaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0SR Fauth is a master at silly quips in awful situations, and as such manages to pull off making a villainous lead an entertaining story.
I will start with the fact that I really want to read more of this story. Just today I found myself refreshing my follow list looking for the next chapter update.
I think Grim might be SR Fauth's most grim MC yet. This lead is a villain who does awful things. You have been warned that this story is not for the faint of heart. He makes SR Fauth's Mercenary Mage series MC look like a pacifist by comparison.
If you are coming to read about a nefarious MC, then look no further. You have found the story you were looking for.
(This will be converted to an advanced review when I have read more of the story) - Authors DreadRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The novel has a compelling premise, with the protagonist Grim being a unique character. His background as the adopted son of a god of the underworld and his mission to hunt down the Shards of Creation make him an intriguing character. His interactions with other characters, such as Solaria and Rat, add depth to his character and provide opportunities for character development.
However, there are areas where the novel could improve. For instance, the character development could be more nuanced. While the characters have distinct personalities and roles, their motivations and backstories could be explored more deeply. For example, what led Solaria to become a superheroine? What is Rat's story before he became an Anubis Demon?
In terms of plot, the novel has a strong central conflict with Grim's mission and the battles between heroes and villains. However, the plot could benefit from more subplots and twists to keep the readers engaged. For instance, there could be internal conflicts within the Guild of Heroes or unexpected alliances between characters.
The world-building in the novel is impressive, with the concept of a universe where humans have crazy superpowers.
The dialogue in the novel is a mixed bag. Some of it is engaging and adds depth to the characters, while other parts feel a bit forced and unnatural. For example, in Chapter 3, the conversation between Grim and Solaria is intriguing. It reveals Grim's intentions and Solaria's confusion and fear, adding tension to the scene. However, the dialogue could be more natural and less expository. Instead of Grim explaining his plans outright, it would be more engaging if the readers could piece together his intentions through his actions and subtler hints in the dialogue.
On the other hand, the dialogue between Grim and Bag, the AI-like entity, feels a bit forced. It's clear that their conversations are meant to provide information to the readers, but it comes off as a bit too convenient and unnatural. Instead of Ba - The Reality Next DoorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I just realized, that line might sound a bit wrong, I meant, I love villain protagonists, or outright MCs who love to murder or eat souls.
If you dislike that, then this book will not be something you will enjoy, as the author delves into the realm of villainy rapidly.
Style: Get reading for some swearing, because fuck me, that word fuck is being used the whole fucking time, want to describe a fucking thing? Just fuck with it, while you fucking explain it. Ahem, excuse me, but, I was trying to make a point. I love the swearing, not bothered by it one bit, if you dislike swearing, then leave now, or your soul will be scarred as you leave a 0,5 stat for swear words in this book. You did read the warning, didn't you?
Grammar: I noticed a few slight errors, a missing letter here, a wrong sentence here, some minor things. But we are all just men, unless you are secretly a shapeshifter. Making mistakes is possible, and I hand waved most of them away.
Story: Yeah, I am not going to spoil too much here, if you like somebody who seems to be becoming an evil overlord of some kind, then this is your shtick.
Character score: There is, literally, a guy named Rat that summons rats, do I even need to say more? The MC is batshit crazy, and I love it!
If you enjoy strange books, then this might be the perfect book for you, just get into it, delve into this strange book and sign away your soul, believe me, selling your soul is worth it!
