This is not part of my random review series. I clicked this series of my own free will from a forum signature because the cover is hilarious.
This low level crab is shocked. Speechless. Pinched. This review is a short review of the collection listed under "Thirst Trap." This crab has no idea of where to begin.
Firstly, it should be known that the author of these stories is an editor. This shows in the author's writing heavily in terms of style, grammar, word choice and characterization.  This author knows how to write, to write well and how to make you doubt that you deserve to call yourself a writer. There are techniques employed here that I want to know about and I want to use myself.
The content of the stories in the "Thirst Trap" Volume aren't as risque as one might imagine by the cover. The more explicit material is more hinted at than thrown at the reader like a sledgehammer to the face. To this crab, it is the kind style that whispers in your ear, but then isn't there when you turn around.
Richard is well 'fleshed' out through dialogue and action in the story. He has wants and needs, and you know what they are without him turning to you like Ryan Reynolds and telling you.
There is a definite story here, but from what I understand the author has this as a free time short story project. If you hit follow though, just imagine the surprise treat when an update does happen, like finding the carrot after a long weekend bender with your mistress.

Some beautifully written, funny, sexy, short stories here.
The language used is creative poetry with a solid sense of humor.
Bit of a mish mash of genres but all lots of fun, like a comedic sexy story surprise.
I love the character banter and how each character manages to feel unique and realistic even within such a short amount of time.
These are more slice of live than overarching plot but I think it works quite well. Like catching a glimpse of different passing lives. All of them make you want to know a little more, and leave you with a sense of sonder.
Sometimes more chapters get added in the middle (since the author writes more on a specific short - some are a couple chapters long). This is fine but I think it would be helpful to give an indication in each chapter title which short it belongs to.
