The author obviously has an idea of what they want to write, but in the process of using AI, they allowed it to take over the majority of the novel. In this case, the author acts as the seamstress to the AI—but unfortunately, they’re a poor seamstress. The stitches are loose, the fabric of the story frays, and what could have been a cohesive vision feels patched together rather than crafted.
AI is a tool for sparking ideas, not the pen for the paper, nor the hand that guides it. It’s a collaborator, not the creator. When the balance tips too far, the story loses its soul, its heartbeat, and its humanity.
If the author truly wants to continue this story, I’d suggest they outline it carefully, then write the chapters themselves—even if the writing is rough. That’s the beauty of AI: it can help polish the rough edges, but it shouldn’t carve the statue from the stone. Let the tool refine, not replace.
