Description

The sleepy suburbs of Middlely have never been the site of anything exciting. It's quiet, it's peaceful, and it's slowly dying as the homes and infrastructure of yesterday slowly crumble away below the feet of its citizens.

But, something strange has started to happen. Things are getting fixed. The Smiths didn't pay anyone to fix their roof, but it's not leaking anymore. The Smith's neighbors didn't call anyone to come replace their gutters, but they're shiny and new. The town hasn't patched that pothole on main street in twelve years, but suddenly it's fixed and the mayor sure isn't taking credit for it.

Something odd is going on in Middlely... Someone or somethingis going around fixing things without being asked. It should be a blessing, right? Right?

What to Expect:- Each chapter is its own self contained story- A mysterious threatening handyman as the "monster" connecting all the stories- Short fun arcs (about ten chapters each)- Cosmic horror meets Bob Vila vibes

First off, the characters pass the not evil test.  There are some... differences of opinion and propriety driving conflict, but nothing that warrants brain bleach, or that might keep you up at night.
It still deserves that horror tag.  No spoilers, that would ruin the punch lines.  There's a fine line between humour and horror, sweet and sad, that has been tread beautifully so far.
Only a few 'chapters' so far, but each is a self contained short story.  It's more an anthology than a traditional short story.  Each and every tale is worth reading, independent of the rest, so no worries about cliffhangers or a hiatus.
If this ever transitions to longer form storytelling, there's plenty of foundation to work with.  Anthology style is better at capturing the horror and suspense angle, though.
Overall: Lots of reasons to enjoy, none that might detract, unless you have some highly specific trauma, in which case you might find this therapeutic.
Style: The horror genre is more about style and pacing than anything else, which is exactly what we see here.
    Story: Very personal and relatable.
Grammar: I found one typo so far, so I technically shouldn't grant a perfect score.
Character: Stupendous.  We've all either met or been people like this, and the 'monster' is one many of us have dreamed and/or dreaded at one time the other.
This is an author I'll definitely be following.  Prose, pacing, and style are some of the rarest and hardest talents to learn.
