Description
In the lands belonging to the Nine Peaks Harmony Sect two fates await mortals who reveal their ability to cultivate. Those who show promise are promptly sworn into the sect and begin their long and arduous journey on the path of Immortality. Those who lack the required talent are taught a severed dao - and spend their lives in servitude.
Jin Sou belonged to the second group.
Instead of the Immortal peaks, his fate led him underground to toil in the dark and perilous shafts of a spiritual crystal mine. It seemed his future was sealed until one day when he discovered a mysterious treasure that should never have appeared in a place like this...

- JaegerMaximRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is like a weapon, still hot, in the midst of forging. Who knows if it will be a legendary blade? What is known is that the foundational materials are exciting, and I am really looking forward to seeing where this story goes next.
Style: 5/5 - This is an easy read. The words don't strain the mind, and the emotions, scenery and action are all evoked seamlessly. The author is still new, but this doesn't feel like a first work. It reads like a veteran of 200,000+ words.
Story: 5/5 - I love the setting. The way cultivation techniques are hoarded, and the power dynamics of the upper and lower classes add a very real flavour to the xianxia world. It feels vibrant and alive, and I want to see where the MC goes next and how he navigates the power structures of this world. In some ways, this xianxia feels a lot more clustered than a typical one. This makes expectations for a new up and coming power all the more interesting.
Grammar: 5/5 - No noticeable issues.
Character: 5/5 - Jin Sou is likeable and hard working. He is hard done by, like many in the lower class, and I can't help but root for him. I want to see him succeed!
Overall a good xianxia read with excellent characters. Recommend picking it up! - MasterMRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Enjoying the novel quite a bit so far, pacing is steady, the main character's thoughts are conveyed in a way that feels real. Has me intrigued every chapter as the plot progresses quite well. The Qi system is also explained really well, for people who enjoy that extra mystical detail. A pleasant story to pass the time with, I just wish there was more!
- choc51Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5It had a good and kind of unique premise. I really liked the forst couple of chapters I read. Unfortunately the novel was stopped.
I'll still keep it in my followed novels just in case. If not the case, that's life!!
One last sentence to make sure I reach the 50-word limit. - aphoselRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Style;
It's written in a fairly generic, but still impressively well-written way. The sentences flow properly, and the author tends to show rather than tell things -- though for things such as the characters Qi, it's forced to be a tell since we're not too familiar with it in the story yet.
Grammar;
Plenty of syntax mistakes, but few spelling mistakes. I think it may be the Author's second language. Either way, it's still pretty good.
Story;
It's told from a unique perspective -- I dont think i've ever read anything with the exact same PoV. Being a mining slave for a sect is an unexpected twist to this genre!
Character;
Emotions, feelings, and thoughts are well articulated.
Overall; This story, though not too far into development, is well worth the read in my opinion. It brings about a new perspective from a realistic circumstance. it delves slightly into the darker aspects of cultivation worlds, and brings out the essence of cultivation sects in general. The societal rings, the mortal segregation, classism, and seperation between sect and non-sect are all pretty standard -- and even in just a few chapters, this brings out quite a bit of those topics and seeks to expound them.
